Title: Maranatha/Rev 22:20-21

Content Sermon Title Maranatha

Preacher Kim Jo

Bible Verse Revelation 22:20-21

Everything that has a beginning has an end. When I said that this year had started, it was over. There are many signs of the end times in this world as well. Abnormal temperatures, famines, earthquakes, war news, and the appearance of the Antichrist all over the world show that the time of the Lord's coming is imminent. To those who were waiting for Jesus' ascension, he said to them, "How are you looking into the sky? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, came in the same way as you saw him go into heaven" (Acts 1:11). I do not know when, but the Lord is definitely coming again. He said, “I am coming very soon.”

Jesus prophesied about 450 times in the Old Testament, and the first coming Jesus came as the Lord of salvation, but the Lord who has promised 1518 times will come as the Lord of Judgment, so why didn't He tell us about that time? It is a message to prepare everything and always wait and live, so it should be the faith of “maranatha”, “Amen, come, Lord Jesus.”

1. It is a cry with a certain hope.

Jesus will find us and if we meet, the sick will be healed, the dead will come back to life, the poor will become rich and the frustrated will have new hope, and will subdue the world by any power and defeat it by Satan’s tricks. what you have

When the Lord comes, he will solve everything in the physical world, so it is a cry of hope that the Lord will come, and it is a cry of hope that He will solve not only physical problems but also spiritual problems that will give us eternal life and joy. David, who had experienced countless wars, the pain of enemies and traitors, and fled from Saul, had also experienced it in the hope that God would always find him, so he confessed, “The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not lack.”

The people of Israel had been waiting for the Messiah to come, but they were not satisfied with their demands, so they could not receive him and crucified him. We hope that you will gain eternal joy and life and glorify God by clearly looking at Jesus, our true hope, and this is the faith of “Maranatha”.

2. It is a cry of faith that is ready to receive a reward.

Maranatha's confession of faith, “Amen, come Lord Jesus,” is a summary of the faith of the early church members, and it is a cry of faith that believes that the Lord will reward you when He comes as the central thought flowing in the book of Revelation. How embarrassing would it be to say, “I am coming soon” to someone who is not ready to receive a reward? But how long will a person who is ready to receive a reward and praised by God wait for that time? Those who have faith, rewards, and preparations to meet the Lord in this way are believers in Maranatha.

Beloved saints! No one knows when the Lord will come. But what is certain is that he will come again. The Lord of the First Coming came as a work of salvation, but when the Lord of His Second Coming comes as the Lord of judgment, we must prepare ourselves to receive praise and rewards and wait for the time of His coming. I know the parable of the ten virgins. The lamps were prepared, but there was no oil, so the five virgins could not meet the bridegroom, and only the five virgins who had oil prepared could welcome the groom. Saints! How prepared am I? I want to become a saint who is ready to be praised and shouts maranatha, saying, "Because you have been faithful in small things, share in the joy of your master."

3. It is a cry full of joy of salvation.

Lord, if you find us, all problems will be solved under the grace of the Lord, and how happy and joyful it will be to receive spiritual salvation and eternal life and joy. That is why Maranatha's faith is only joyful and joyful anytime, anywhere. Therefore, the cry of “Come, Lord Jesus, Amen” is the sound of cheers filled with joy, thanks, and emotion. Because we have already been saved, the power of death is not scary and we are also freed from the pain of sin. Such a person becomes a strong and courageous person that the world cannot bear. Deacon Stephen's joy of salvation, who had compassion on those who were stoned to death, and prayed for them, and his face shone like the sun, changed Saul into an apostle of Paul.

Because he had thanks for salvation, he threw him into the lions' den to pray, but instead of begging for his life, Daniel praised and thanked God. “Though the fig tree, the vine, and the olive tree produce no crop, there is no food, and there are no sheep or cattle, I will rejoice in the LORD, I will rejoice in the God of my salvation. The confession of Prophet Habakkuk, “Habakkuk” (Habakkuk 3:17-19) wants to be filled in the saints too.

I will finish speaking.

Now that the word of the Lord's promise, “I will come quickly,” is imminent, we should look at how our faith is and have the faith of Maranatha, “Amen, come, Lord Jesus.” It is the faith that has a sure hope in the Lord, the cry of the saints who have faith ready to receive rewards by solving problems both physically and spiritually, and the saints who enjoy the world with the faith of Maranatha who cheers for joy in the thrill of salvation and are praised in the last days want to be
