marriage according to God's will
Genesis 24 10-27
After the death of his wife Sarah, Abraham asks his most trusted servant to find a wife for his son Isaac, who is of marriageable age.
The old servant mentioned here is Eliezer of Damascus introduced in Genesis 15:2. He is a servant whom Abraham trusts enough to call him heir. Since he has been living with him until now, he has been a servant in Abraham's house for over 60 years, so it is easy to understand that he is a trustworthy person.
Dear saints,
How is God's will for us today, too, for parents who have children of marriageable age to marry? to
You will meet saints who are arrogant because they do not know.
In today's text, we will look at how God's will is to get married, and in the next lesson we will look at marriage and matchmaking.
Parents are even more afraid if their children are in a relationship. If you break up by mistake and get hurt,
There are also cases of being used by men while dating. Seeing them dating makes them anxious, and even if they can't perform in entertainment, their children look uneasy. I worry about not being able to do it.
We humans worry even if we talk like this, and worry if we don't.
Abraham must have had the same troubles as us, right? As long as my beloved wife Sarah is alive, it doesn't matter.
Now that Sarah is dead, I have a feeling that I should marry Isaac without losing his marriage.
Because Abraham himself is old and does not know when he will take over the world.
Parents and young adults who are married, I hope that you will listen to this sermon and get married according to the instructions of the Bible.
Dear saints,
The attitude parents should have toward their children's marriage requires (1) faith that God will bless and love our children as he has loved us. Those who believe in God and those who do not believe are very different.
Our children's spouses need to have faith that God is preparing them.
What is the definition of faith? Hebrews 11:1, Acts 27:25, Romans 4:20-21
Don't just gossip at home because you're late for marriage, and say things that convince you to ask God, don't worry, because God is preparing for you.
You will meet a nice person. God has prepared a good partner for you.
Abraham had such faith. So he does not go by himself, but sends his own servant.
If you don't believe it, how can you send moth instead of yourself?
For those who trust in God, everything is God's plan and providence. They see the future.
But those who do not believe in God are anxious because they cannot see the future.
However, even after seeing dozens of people, he doesn't like it, so he just picks it up and gives up on his soul.
Dear saints,
The more you look at the line, the more difficult it is to pick. Just watch a few people and do it with those who get inspired.
People who are a little better, people who are a little better, and then they lose everything.
So, people who do not believe in God do not have confidence, so there are some people who go to fortune tellers, see the four or four, match them, and then prepare for marriage.
We want you to believe that God loves us and has His providence and plan for each of us. God did not give up on marriage for his children just because he lost marriage.
Never doubt it. You cannot determine the future because of the problems of the past.
(2) If you have faith, pray according to your faith. Abraham was convinced that God was preparing a bride for Isaac. Since Abraham believes, doesn't that servant also have faith and go to what Abraham tells him to do? Look at verses 10-11.
Abraham's servant recognized here and did not look there. Because the master had faith in the God he believed in. A person of faith does not wander, does not quarrel
Even if there is something that shakes your heart a little, it quickly returns to the essence.
And it goes one way. And you can keep going even if you can't see it, and you can keep going even if it hurts.
Abraham's servant went to his master's hometown, Mesopotamia, as his master had instructed him.
There you find a well. Watching the women come to the well to draw water, this old servant prays in his heart;
See the earnest prayer of the old servant in verse 12.
