Meaning: The gift of the Lord

As he was passing by, he saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the customs office, and he said to him, “Follow me.” So he got up and followed me (Mark 2:14).

1) As Jesus was passing from there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the customs office and said to him, “Follow me.” So he got up and followed him (Matthew 9:9).

3. Becoming a Disciple of Jesus

4. Host a banquet and receive Jesus
1) While Jesus was sitting and eating at Matthew's house, many tax collectors and sinners came and sat down with Jesus and his disciples (Matthew 9:10).

5. Appointed as an Apostle

3) When it dawned, he called his disciples, and he chose twelve of them and called them apostles... Matthew, Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon who was called Selot (Luke 6:13,15).

When they went in, they went up to the upper chamber, where Peter, John, James, Andrew and Philip, Thomas and Bartholomew, Matthew and James the son of Alphaeus, Simon the Zelotite, and Judas the son of James were all there ( Acts 1:13).
