Title: Meeting Jesus / Mark 5:1-20

Content I. Humanity is restored.(1-8)

The figure of a Gerasa madman who was possessed by an unclean spirit is a figure that has lost his humanity. He lives alone among the graves. They live uncontrolled even with furrows and chains. Day and night, they live screaming in graves and mountains.

It is the image of a lonely human being cut off from human relationships. He also lived by bruising myself with stones. Moreover, this man lived as a human being without Jesus, as Jesus said when he came near to him, “Jesus, what have you to do with me?”

However, his life changed completely when he met Jesus. It was about regaining the lost humanity.

II. You will know your worth.(9-17)

In the way Jesus treats this Gerasa madman, who was possessed by a demon, we learn the value of a person. He said to this man who had an unclean spirit, “Come out of him, you unclean spirit.” The demons came out and entered the herd of pigs, and they went into the sea and were drowned.

It is Jesus who values one soul more than two thousand pigs. But from the point of view of the townsfolk, one crazy person caused great material damage.

Depending on this point of view, you can see that the value of one soul and one life is vastly different. When we truly meet Jesus, we can rediscover our worth.

. You will find your own work.(18-20)

As Jesus got into the boat to leave the town, a man possessed by a demon asked to be with Jesus. But Jesus said to me, “Go home, and tell your relatives how great the Lord has done to you, and how he has compassion on you.”

In other words, it is good to walk with Jesus and become a witness, but you have your own work to do in the place where you live. Because the love, grace, and blessings that Jesus gave me are not for me.

Therefore, in the field of life that Jesus entrusted to me, I need to find work for the Lord and live a life that strives for it.
