There are many celebrations in the world. In the text, he said to commemorate it twice. Today is the Memorial Day Jesus spoke of. The faith of the early church members was truly great. They were those who did not hesitate to suffer and risked their lives to follow the Lord. In particular, the Corinthian church members were experienced with fervent faith with numerous gifts. Nevertheless, over the years they have had problems with some churches. Because of this, the Lord reproached them greatly for defiling the Lord's Supper and the memorial service.
What kind of celebration is this celebration?
It is to commemorate the Lord, and the saints do not know what it is or what it means. So, those who are baptized and realize the grace of the cross are allowed to come to the Lord's Supper.
It commemorates the death of the Lord. Therefore, it is much closer to being as solemn as possible and thinking of the cross of the Lord and praying with a heart, rather than jumping joyfully and in a festive mood.
It commemorates the flesh and blood of the Lord. It is not to commemorate a person or a day or some achievement, but rather the Lord Himself. It is the body of the Lord and the blood of the Lord.
How to celebrate?
It is self-examination.
Several problems arose in the Corinthian church, which was so beautiful and full of power.
Conflict] Verse 18, 1 Corinthians 1:11-12 My brethren, I hear about you as a compilation of Chloe, that there is a strife among you. to say, I belong to Christ.
A conflicting church, home, or spirit is ruining the Memorial.
Discernment] The church is the kingdom of God that God has separated from the world. Even though the Corinthian church has experienced many gifts, being rebuked for being a childlike church is to have a conflict and fail to discern the supper. They do not know what kind of place they are, why they share the bread, or why they turn the cup and drink.
is to convey. We must proclaim the death and resurrection of the Lord. The event of the cross of the Lord must be spread widely. And I will tell you until you come. Surely the Lord will come. Our church must preach this rite until the Lord comes.
