Title: Merit of the Lamb
content sp;&p;&p; Exodus 12: 1- 14&p; Lamb's Merit&p;&p;&p;&p;&p;060409&p;
&p;Today is Palm Sunday. And the event that the Lord came to Jerusalem on Palm Sunday and died on that Friday fulfilled the meaning of the Passover that the Jews had kept.
The book of Exodus is the history of salvation in which Israel, who lived as a slave in Egypt, was liberated by God's grace and started anew as God's people, and the central event of this Exodus is the Passover. It is also an event that symbolizes the crucifixion that freed all mankind&p;from sin.&p;
The text we read today is about the first Passover to liberate Israel from Egypt. On that Passover, the Lord was slain like the Passover lamb and shed His blood for all the people.&p;The first Passover that Israel met in Egypt was an Egyptian It began with the tenth plague, in which all of the firstborn died, and when such a terrible plague was brought upon Egypt, a special command was given to Israel.&p;&p;A lamb without blemish was tied up in advance for each household, The blood was put on the outside doorpost, and the meat was roasted and eaten with the whole family. If that were the case, the house where the angel of death, who came to kill the firstborn in Egypt, had blood on the door would pass by, and the firstborn of that house would not die. and the king who saw it would let you go.
&p;
&p;The people of Israel did as God commanded, and not one died and came to life. However, in the houses of the Egyptians who insisted on making God's things their own until the end, the firstborn died in every household, and the king's prince died, so the king finally surrendered.&p; Israel gave the command to go out, so those who slaughtered sheep, smeared their blood and roasted meat according to God's command, were immediately set free that night. Because they escaped from Egypt that night, that day became the feast of liberation The festival that commemorates that event is the Passover.
&p;&p;
* The eldest son of Egypt, who died in the plague, is the image of all human beings who must die for their sins,&p;
* The lamb that shed the blood that saved Israel symbolizes Christ, who shed His blood for the sins of mankind,
* Israel, who was accidentally liberated while eating lamb, symbolizes believers who believe in the merits of Christ, who were saved without merit through the merits of Christ's blood.
This event is not only a historical record that shows how Israel was liberated from Egypt, but beyond that, how mankind, who was born as a slave to sin, lived in sin for the rest of their lives, and had no choice but to die and perish, was forgiven of their sins and escaped the judgment of God. It shows how we can enter into the bosom of grace.&p;In other words, it is a revelation that shows how a person can be saved.
God taught us how to be saved through the Lamb.
ⓐ Choose a lamb without blemish;
ⓑ The sheep should be prepared on the 10th of January and caught on the 14th,&p;
ⓒ Apply sheep's blood to the outer door,&p;
ⓓ The meat shall be roasted over the fire,&p;
Then the messenger of disaster will see the blood, and the house will just pass by.
These four specific instructions had a very special meaning.
1) It reveals that Jesus is the only one without blemish who can die for sinners.&p;
2) And Jesus was the lamb that was prepared for our salvation from before the foundation of the world.
1 Peter 1:18-20 says, “You know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that we were saved from the profane ways of our ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. He who was foretelled from before the foundation of the world, but has been revealed for you in these last days." It is the testimony that Christ is the Lamb without blemish and was the sacrifice prepared in advance for our salvation from before the foundation of the world. John the Baptist referred to the Lord and introduced Jesus, saying, “Behold the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world” (John 1:29).
3) The blood of a dead lamb had to be applied to the lintels of the lamb eaters. It was a sign, and it was a sign that our home was a family where an innocent sheep died instead, and it was a sign that we obeyed the word of God (Hebrews 11:28). &p;Christ's sacrifice is powerful enough to save many sinners, but God saves only those who believe &p;only those who obey the Word.&p;
4) The meat had to be roasted and eaten. He said that it should not be boiled in water or eaten raw. Why did you order that? When the meat is grilled, the smell fills the house, and the smell vibrates not only the house but also the alleyways. This too is spreading the fact that our family obeyed God's word and ate and ate sheep.&p;If you eat it boiled or raw, you could eat it secretly, but to eat it grilled is to reveal that fact. If a believer today reveals that he is a believer and lives like a believer, God works.&p;
Israel had to slaughter sheep, smear its blood outside the door, and roast its meat, smoking it and eating it loudly. In doing so, the fact that the eldest son did not die in our house was that God, who saw the blood of the Lamb, passed over it, and that our salvation was not due to our merits, but by faith in the sacrifice of a lamb without blemish designated by God.&p; It is not to hide, but to go berserk.
1) In the days of Noah, when sinners were judged by the flood, only eight people who were in the ark were saved, and no one was saved outside the ark.
2) When Israel marched into Canaan, Rahab the prostitute was saved because she was in a house with the red rope of the promise hanging from the window.
3) Even on the Passover, we were saved because we were in a house with blood on the door.
The church is the ark of salvation, the house on which the red line of promise is hung, the house where the blood of Jesus is sprinkled on the doorposts, and the house of God that protects and saves all who enter that house.
The blood of the sheep was not sprinkled on the people, but on the door of the house, and those who wandered on the road from the house where the blood was sprinkled could not get the credit for the blood.
There were screams outside that day, and the shadows of death were coming and going, but the people gathered in the blood-stained house were peaceful and safe, and they sang hymns and roasted lamb to their fill, and were saved without doing anything.&p;
The church is the house where our Lord, who gave us life, and our fellowship, who gained life because of Him,&p;the church is the place where the fellowship of love is made between the saints who are saved together.&p;here is the life and word of the Lord This is food.&p;The Lord has promised to save those who eat my body and drink my blood. The church is the only place where there is true food, and the church is the only place where salvation can be obtained.
They gathered around the table that night around the lambs that had died for them.
As they were commanded to eat lamb in a house sprinkled with sheep's blood, they gathered around and ate together, but they had to eat it all that night. So, if the family was too small to eat one sheep, they were supposed to slaughter the sheep together with the neighbors. Therefore, the people who gathered around the meat to eat the lamb that night were not the family centered in the flesh, but the people centered on the sheep, and it was the gathering of those who were saved by the blood of the sheep, that is, the church. Therefore, the center of the church is not man, but Christ, our Savior.
&p;Today is Sacrament Sunday,&p;we will have a sacrament meeting to commemorate the death of Jesus, the Lamb of God who died for our sins.
When the Lord broke bread at the place where he and his disciples had gathered to eat, he said, “Take and eat. This is my flesh for you.” He shared the red wine and said, “Drink this. This is the blood of the new covenant with you.” You said.
The sacrament we receive today is the same as the Passover supper where the people who lived as slaves in Egypt prepared for that Passover night, smeared their blood, roasted the meat, and ate it. but this sacrament we eat today frees us from eternal sin and its punishment.&p;
As I participate again in this sacrament today, I thank God for the sacrifice of the unblemished Lamb Jesus Christ, which God has prepared for our salvation, and receive Him deeply in my body and heart as I eat food, and believe in Him, eternal death for our sins May you be freed from death and find salvation, guidance, and eternal life from the Lord.&p;
I pray in the name of the Lord that the Lord's work of saving lives and the Lord's blessing in liberating us from all bondage will be upon all the saints participating in the Lord's Supper today.&p;
&p;On the night of the last plagues upon Egypt, the first communion was the midnight meal the Israelites slaughtered, smeared their blood on the outside of the door, and wrapped the lamb around a edible roast lamb. ;There are four meanings.
First, that they obeyed God’s word, second, that they had faith that they would not die because of the sacrifice of the sheep, and third, that they were saved through the merits of the blood of the sheep, they now have a new family of one sheep. and fourth, that the lamb they ate gave them the strength to walk the long road of dawn and leave Egypt.
The same is true of our sacrament meeting today.&p;First, this sacrament was instituted by the Lord by command, so we obey and participate. Second, he established a new covenant by saying that those who eat my flesh and drink my blood will live on the last day. It means that I participate in that covenant simply by faith. Third, it is a sign that I become a member of a holy family by participating in the church, a gathering of those who have been saved by the blood of the Lord. Fourth, the Lord, whom I have received through faith, gives me strength and power. It is our participation in this sacrament with the assurance that He will help us to become victorious and live a victorious life.&p;
As we partake of the Lord's Supper, let's reaffirm our obedience, faith and love, and live like those who have received the body and blood of the Lord and who have made a new covenant with the Lord so that we can participate in the feast to be held in the kingdom of God.
