Messages from angels/Revelation 14:6-13

(Verses 1-5) tells what kind of people the 144,000 servants of God who are the victors on Mount Zion are. Then, up to today's text (verses 6-11), the vision of three angels appears. They each carry the message of God. The first angel preaches the everlasting gospel, the second angel proclaims the judgment of Antichrist Babylon, the land of idolatry, and the third angel proclaims the judgment of their followers. (Verses 12-13) are the words of blessing and comfort from those who kept the faith and persevered.

Today's message is simple if we focus on the messages delivered by the three angels. However, it can also be interpreted that all of those messages hang on the word “eternal gospel” delivered by the first angel. The judgment of the Antichrist and the destruction of those who followed the Antichrist can also be considered in the category of this eternal gospel. The word ‘eternal gospel’ does not mean anything different from the gospel that has been preached yet. The gospel is only Christ. The news of his death and resurrection is the gospel.

It is the word of God that gives eternal life. Revelation also testifies of Christ within the same scope. Be wary of those who say anything special here. This gospel is 'the gospel of God (Mark 1:14), the gospel of salvation (Ephesians 1:13), the gospel of peace (Ephesians 6:15), the gospel of peace (Acts 10:), the gospel of glory (1 Timothy 1: 11) and so on. Today, we would like to share the grace of God with the three angels preaching in detail.

First Angel's Message

Before looking at the first angel's message, let's look at who the angel is. There are some who identify with the two witnesses in Chapter 11 (chapter 11) of the angels who fly and preach the gospel in the air. It is said that the two witnesses who preached the gospel to many nations, tribes, tongues, and peoples coincide with the target (Revelation 10:11). Angels have never been commissioned to preach the gospel, and they claim that God prophesied only through His servants and prophets. (Hebrews 1:1) “God spoke to our ancestors in various ways and in various ways through the prophets of old” The New Testament also says that an evangelist must have received the power of the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8).

But this idea is an example of too arbitrarily equating the two witnesses with the angels here. Angels should be accepted as pure angels. Like the angel Gabriel who announced the birth of Jesus, they are the angels who will preach the gospel and judgment to the saints in the last days. There are many appearances of angels in the last days. In particular, it appears 55 times in the Book of Revelation alone. An angel flying through the air proclaiming the gospel means that everyone will hear and see. Also, the Antichrist, who is the ruler of the earth, falls short of it. I use this method because it is the universal gospel that is preached to everyone and speak out loud.

Now, let's look at the gospel preached by the first angel. “Fear God and give him glory, for the hour of his judgment has come; worship him who made the heavens and the earth and the sea and the fountains of waters” (7). It is a warning that the time of God's judgment is very near. In summary, these are three words to fear God, glorify God, and worship God. Today, we have a mission to raise our voices and deliver God's judgment to the restless generation.

second angel's message

The second angel follows the first angel and speaks. The message is about the judgment of the harlot compared to Babylon the Great. In the book of Revelation, the great city of Babylon means this world to be destroyed, or the great earth itself. Babylon has other expressions such as Sodom, Egypt, the great harlot who sits on the water, and the great city ruled by the kings of the earth (Revelation 17). But here he is the one who fed all the nations with the wine of wrath because of the wine of her fornication. Babylon the Great is a majority and refers to the center of Satan in the world. It is the power of the whore represented by the Antichrist.

The third angel's message

The third message speaks of the terrible judgment of those who have received the mark of the beast by worshiping the beast and his image. 666 It refers to the destruction of those who received the mark of the beast, apostates, and unbelievers. These are those who bow down to beasts and idols. The ‘beast’ is from the sea, and the ‘idol’ is from the earth (Revelation 13). Those who have received the 666 mark of the beast on their forehead or on their hand have already worshiped an idol. But we cannot escape God's judgment. The very reason the Antichrist appears is to make people receive the mark of the beast.

message to the saints

All the gospels preached by angels are related to the judgment of the forces of the Antichrist. However, (verses 12, 13) is about the blessing of the saints. It's so contrasting. Whether or not to keep the faith makes a completely irreconcilable difference. We must meditate deeply on the words, “Here is the patience of the saints” (12). Judgment was proclaimed before Pharaoh in which those who did not persevere would be destroyed. Those who keep the commandments of God and do not betray Jesus Christ may face hardships, but in the end they become victors. So the Lord said. (Matthew 24:13) “But he who endures to the end will be saved.”

Especially (verse 13) mentions the blessing of the saints who had no choice but to be martyred to keep their faith in times of trouble. “Those who die in the Lord” mean that they did not lose their faith and were martyred. The condemned souls have no rest forever(11), but those who have died in the Lord have eternal rest. Because of their sufferings and the deeds they have done, they will not be harmed by the second death, and will come to eternal rest.

Dear saints,

The judgment of the last days is clear. The Antichrist and all his followers will perish. In today's world, it's hard to tell them apart. However, in the end they are clearly distinct. It is purely up to us humans to decide which side we will stand on. Everyone, please stand on God's side in advance and do not be shaken. You must pass through hardship and death. Now these words will not come true. However, when the antichrist appears and the reality of the 666 mark is revealed, I hope you will remember these words and become courageous believers who can choose death rather than death.
