Title: Messianic Prophecy / Psalm 16:8
Contents Messianic Prophecy Psalms 16:8
Key Verse: “I set the LORD always before me; I will not be moved because he is at my right hand.”
1. Prophecy of the incarnation of Christ
In verses 9-10, “I will rejoice, and my body will dwell in safety, for he will not leave my soul in hell.”
2. Passion
The words “I will not be shaken” in verse 8 allude to a shocking attack and blow that separates the soul and the body. In verse 10, the meaning of not leaving you in hell means that you will not leave me among the dead.
3. The help of the Holy Spirit during the Passion
First, Christ has Jehovah always before him (v. 8), making him the object of faith, trust, and hope. Second, Christ has always been close to God as he confessed that he is at my right hand. Third, it does not move even when it comes to the mouth that can be moved. Fourth, my heart rejoices, and fifth, it says that my glory rejoices. Here, Peter interpreted my glory with the lips and confessed that the lips that preach all these facts are the most glorious members.
4. Resurrection
First, it prophesies that the soul of Christ will not remain in Hades, that is, separated from the body (verse 10), and secondly, the Holy One of the Lord (verse 10) will be the Messiah, incorruptible like life. Glory comes from sacrifice. That is why, “For the joy that was set before him, he endured the cross, despicing the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrews 12:2). We must be those who always have Christ close at hand. This is the supreme wisdom of man. And our hearts and our tongues should rejoice in Christ. The tongue should be a glory, not a disgrace. Finally, we must become those who are willing to sacrifice for the Lord for the joy and joy of heaven. Prayer: Thank God. By lifting David's lips to hear Christ, our faith is strengthened. With this faith, help me to become a family of yours who can bear even the sacrifice for you with joy. I pray in Jesus name. Amen.
