Title: Mighty Faith / Mark 9:16-29

Content Title: Powerful Faith

Text / Mark 9:16-29

2. However, the father did not come to church even after seeing the miracle of God healing his son who would be lame for the rest of his life. What a precious treasure and blessing it is to believe in Jesus Christ as your Savior and to have the certainty of becoming a child of God.

Luke 10:20 “But do not rejoice that the demons surrender to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.” (Luke 10:20) When you see and hear, the only thing you can rejoice over is that your names are written in the kingdom of heaven.

3. In today's text, a father's son was ill, and he tried all the medicines he said was good for him, but he did not get better. His illness suddenly collapsed, foamed, grinded his teeth, and fainted. At this time, his father's heart seemed to be torn. Judging from this condition, it is a disease possessed by demons, both in the past and today.

We came to Jesus, but Jesus went to the Mount of Transfiguration with 3 disciples, and there were only 9 disciples, but when they could not cast out the demons, the scribes mocked and criticized the disciples. When Jesus cast out the demon in the child, the child became healthy.

II. To become a person of strong faith...

1) I have heard the word of the Lord (22-23).

22 "The devil has often thrown him into fire and water to kill him. But if you can do anything, have pity on us and help us. 23 Jesus said to him, "If you can do it, what do you mean? Nothing is impossible for those who believe." 9:22-23)”

After hearing the words of Jesus, the father of the child changed his mind. First, he felt that his faith had to be restored. Verse 24 - Begged.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 "16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness 17 so that the man of God may be perfected for every good work. The word of the Bible is said to perfect the faith of the saints. Just as you brought a child with a problem to Jesus to this crusade and it was resolved, bring the problem to Jesus at this crusade.

2) He prayed to gain faith (24).

“At once the boy’s father cried out, saying, I believe; help my unbelief” (Mark 9:24).

Mark 16:17 “And these signs shall follow those who believe, in my name they will cast out demons, and they will speak with new tongues.”

He said that those who believe will receive signs and can drive out demons.

9 Even the disciples could not cast out demons from the child.

ex) In the early days of the early days of the Tent Church, he laid a parquet on the floor and spent all night driving out demons. Demon-possessed people recognize unbelief well.

We cannot express God's work in faith (Matt. 6:30), fearful faith (Mt 8:26), unfaithful faith (Mt 17:20), and doubt (Mt 14:31).

3) You must become a warrior of faith in prayer (28-29).

28 When he entered the house, his disciples asked him in silence, “Why were we not able to cast out the demon?

To be able to pray for any problem is to believe that God must solve everything. The answer to prayer is a believer and faith to experience grace.

In other words, faith that has received the full grace of the Holy Spirit must pray for the Holy Spirit to come upon us.

Matthew 15:28 Faith that comes true Matthew 18:10- Faith that comes true

2 Timothy 1:1 There is a precious faith.

At this revival meeting, we must become powerful and living faith through the work of the Word, prayer, and the Holy Spirit.

. The result of powerful faith

1) The demon-possessed child came out and became strong (24-26).

24 Immediately the child's father cried out, saying, "I believe, help my unbelief." 25 When Jesus saw the crowds running together, he rebuked the unclean spirit and said, "You dumb and deaf spirit, I command you to come out of the child." "Do not enter again." 26 The demon cried out and made the child convulsive and went out, and the child was as if dead, and many said that he was dead (Mark 9:24-26).

2) The Gospel is preached

The father, disciples, and scribes who witnessed this scene believed in the Lord as the Messiah and gave glory to God.

The church must preach and testify to unbelievers when a sign occurs.

3) It heals diseases physically and mentally (Matthew 9:2-7).

“2 People brought a paralytic who was lying on a bed. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, “Take heart, little child, your sins are forgiven.” 3 Some of the scribes said to themselves, “This man is blaspheming. 4 Jesus said to him, Knowing what he was thinking, he said, "Why do you have evil thoughts in your heart? 5 Which is easier to say, 'Your sins are forgiven you, or to say, 'Get up and walk'? 6 But you will know that the Son of Man has authority in the world to forgive sins. '" And he said to the paralytic, "Get up, take your bed and go home." 7 He got up and went home." (Matthew 9:2-7)

Bring the troubled person to Jesus. If the four believers had not brought the paralytic, they would have been paralyzed for the rest of their lives, and they would have gone to a place of destruction.
