Title: Milal Vision
Text: John 12:23-26
Happiness is enjoyed by mature people. Even if you have a lot of money, power, and knowledge, you will not be happy if you do not mature. I am truly happy when I am mentally mature, personally mature, and mature in my family life, work life, and life.
The better we live our life of faith, the deeper the depth of maturity and the wider the range of maturity.
The Lord gave the disciples a vision that where I am, there will be those who will serve me. “If anyone wants to serve me, follow me. Where I am, there will also be those who serve me, and if anyone serves me, my Father will honor him” (verse 26). Those who are near the Lord are those who serve. A person who knows how to serve is a mature person.
An immature person cannot serve others. They don't even think about serving. Rather, they ignore others and try to step on top of others, and only try to glorify themselves.
God is helping us become mature people.
May you become more mature and enjoy more happiness.
How can we live as servants next to the Lord?
I. You can serve when you care about others.
We can begin to serve when we are interested in serving others. The Lord came so that God's people might have life and have it abundantly. “I have come that they may have life, and have it more abundantly”. The Lord cared for others and served them whole. The Lord visited the marginalized, the weak, the poor, and gave them time, reaching out to them with a loving hand and providing for their needs. He gave life to man and made it more abundant.
But serving others is not easy. Serving requires patience. It requires constant effort. Above all, we need a heart of love. Only then will the results of service be realized and it will bring glory to God.
Then I will live, the people served will live, and the church will live. Then you will become more mature and happier.
II. You can serve when you are willing to sacrifice for others.
The Lord showed us the vision of giving life and making it abundant by sacrificing a grain of wheat. “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit” (John 12:24). A grain of wheat must fall to the ground and die in order to bear much fruit. Not only did the Lord show love, care for the poor, and heal the sick, He even gave His life to serve. “I came not to be served, but to serve, and to give as a ransom for many.” The purpose of the Lord's service was that he might die and give as a ransom for many.
Jesus died on the cross and shed all his blood to save us. In order to give the precious gift of ‘salvation’ and ‘eternal life’ to me, who is sinful and guilty, the Lord died in my place of death. Since there is no remission of sins without the shedding of blood, He Himself took the sins of His people and shed His blood. The Lord Himself became a grain of wheat. Here is the Lord's great service and great sacrifice. I have a wheat vision.
The Lord's service is not just giving a little time or money, but he gave his life to save us. Because of this sacrifice, you and I have life now. The Lord was a grain of wheat.
The Lord says “Unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit” (John 12:24). “Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends” (John 15:13). “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me” (Matthew 16:24).
The Lord showed us the vision of becoming a grain of wheat and giving us life and abundance.
I bless you to live by the Lord, serving God and your neighbors with the Milal Vision that the Lord has shown you.
