Title: Miracle Hand / 2005. 7. 10.

Mark 6:33-44, Hebrews 4:15-16
The Bible we read today is the story of the two fish and the five loaves of 'Obyeongyeo' that we have heard like a fairy tale since our Sunday school days. Today, I would like to share the grace of the Word by focusing on the hand that did the miracle in this story. You will see three hands appearing in this miracle.
First, there is the hand of Jesus.
The hand of Jesus did this miracle. How do miracles happen? Are there really miracles? The problem was that there was only one belief. Do you believe in God? Do you believe in Jesus as the Son of God? It just depends on the issue. For those who believe in Jesus as the Son of God, miracles are very natural, and they are the grace of God. Because Jesus is the Creator and Ruler of the world, nothing is impossible for Him. Therefore, those who do not believe in the miracles of Jesus do not believe in miracles, but do not believe in Jesus.
When Jesus saw the crowds following Him, He had compassion on them, like sheep without a shepherd (34). You didn't ask for what purpose they came. Whether you came to heal, to hear good things, or to come out of curiosity or even to spy, he saw what he was and took pity on it. Even today, there are no qualifications or cut lines to come before the Lord. Anyone can come. You can come without faith. Even sinners can come. There is no distinction between the rich and the poor, illiterate and illiterate. Because the Lord's bosom is wider than the whole universe.
Although Jesus taught the kingdom of God and spoke of the salvation of the soul, he did not ignore the life of the flesh. Jesus himself knew well that man does not only have a soul, but also a body. And he accepted such a fragile human being as they are.
We do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses,
He who was tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin.
So that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need
Come boldly before the throne of grace. Hebrews 4:15-16
The hand of Jesus is not only the hand that saves the soul, but also the hand that heals the body. The hand of Jesus is not only the hand that gives spiritual blessings, but also the hand that gives material blessings. The hand of Jesus is not only the hand that leads us to the eternal kingdom of God, but also the hand of the shepherd who guides us in today's world. I pray that you will hold on to this grace's hand and become the saints who always win in this tough world. This hand of grace of Jesus made this miracle today.
Second, there are the hands of the disciples.
The miracle was done by Jesus, but it was the disciples who shared the miracle. The disciples' hands were those that carried miracles. The disciples delivered the miracle bread of the Lord one by one to the people. The disciples' hands were those that shared miracles. It was a hand that carried blessings. They didn't work miracles on their own. But they became miracle-sharing hands.
In particular, it was the disciple Andrew who brought two fish and five loaves, which were the ingredients for this miracle. I brought to the Lord the poor food that the little child had. Andrew was always in the business of introducing people to Jesus. He brought his brother Peter to Jesus, and he brought a little child to Jesus today. Through such people, God works miracles. Even if I can't do it, the Lord makes me do it. He is a person who builds up people who can do what I can't do. Andre is such a person. A place where there are many Andrew's hands like this is a blessed place. The church with many Andrewsson is a gracious church. I hope that you too will be Andre.
Here, we think of the hands of the disciples, including Andrew. The disciples' hands did not work miracles. But they played a big part in this miracle event. The disciples first led a child with two fish and five loaves to Jesus. It also served to seat the crowd and distribute the bread. It is the hand that imparts the blessings of the Lord.
There are gracious people in the world who have an invisible hand that makes things work without them coming forward. A place where there are many people like this is a happy place. The world these people live in is a good world. A world where everyone says that I will be the head, does everything that everyone knows, and everyone only wants to receive the spotlight is not a good world. It will be a world full of strife and strife. Our church has not been created solely by the hands of such famous and reputable people. The church today has become the church by countless nameless Christians, nameless saints with tears, prayers and devotion. The world, society, and country are the same.
There is this song.
'Somewhere in this world there is someone else, whether you know it or not
People who do good deeds, think of what you have. I cry because of joy.'
There is such a story.
In some churches in Europe there is a statue of Jesus, without hands. The statue of Jesus, which was destroyed after World War II, was restored, but the hand could not be found. So, rather than re-creating and pasting, the alumni found other ways. These words are said to be engraved under the statue.
'Jesus has no hands. I am waiting for your hand.'
We need someone to replace the hands of Jesus. We need hands to handle the work of Jesus. Even if a miracle cannot happen, we need a hand to share the miracle of Jesus. Jesus loves me and needs a hand. We need a hand to share the blessings of Jesus.
Thirdly, there is a child's hand.
What the child gave to the Lord was not wheat bread, but barley bread. Judging from this, the child must have come from a very poor family. It was embarrassing and it was a pity, but the child gave that humble and insignificant thing to Jesus. It was a shameful hand. But the Lord worked miracles out of the faith and devotion in his hands.
Jesus asked. How many loaves do you have? If there were potatoes instead of bread, he would have worked miracles with those potatoes. If there was corn, it would have worked miracles. What does this mean? The Lord is pleased to work through us and with what we have.
Those who have wealth will be used with their wealth, those with talent will devote themselves with their talents, and those with knowledge will use their knowledge to do God's work. Even if it's small, if I have something, the Lord works with it. He does not ask whether it is large or small, many or few. He just asks if you have faith.
A child's hand--it was a small hand, but the faith and love he offered was enough to make a miracle happen. The two fish and the five loaves that the child offered were humble, but the devotion and heart contained in the hand that gave them to the Lord was like gold, and the Lord was lifted up high.
Saints, what kind of hand do you have? May you become the hands that receive God's blessing. Please be the hand that carries God's blessings. Please be a hand that conveys the love of Jesus. Please be the hand that replaces the hand of Jesus. I hope it will be a caressing hand. Please be a praying hand. Please be a giving hand. And I hope that you will become a blessed hand. Be the hand that makes miracles.
When you become such a hand of grace, I believe that the Lord will be with you.
