Title: Miracles are not surprising.
Contents
Acts 3 records the event that caused the lame man. Peter and John solved the lame problem that no one could solve by saying, "Silver and gold I do not have, but what I have I give you; in the name of Jesus of Nazareth, walk." Through this Peter, people can hear God's voice about “how to have a miraculous solution time in the place of a problem” and “how to live by experiencing miracles every day in this world.” God is telling us who live today, “You cannot live on your own strength alone.”
1. We must believe that the power is only in God.
When all the people gathered and looked at Peter in amazement, Peter said in a sermon, "You people, why are you surprised!" , "Why are you paying attention to us?" It is said. It is not surprising that this work was done by God and not by man. This is the essence of Peter's sermon. It is our problem to be amazed at such miracles. We always limit God by saying we believe in God. I believe in God, but I do not believe that God is God, I believe according to my thoughts. It is always limiting and believing in God in my thoughts.
Therefore, some people do not believe in miracles because they cannot go beyond the limits of their thinking. Others believe in miracles, but only in words. So don't expect miracles. The truth that Peter teaches in today's text is that the power comes only from God. Remember. When I pray, God works miracles.
2. You must have the right faith.
Verse 16 says that the name of Jesus raised this lame man. When Peter called on the name of Jesus before God, he answered. This explains Peter's relationship with God. God is a God who responds. The Bible tells us that He is the God who lives today and answers our prayers.
When you call on Jesus, the event is not what I do, but what Jesus is doing. When we call on the name of Jesus, the relationship that Jesus responds to depends on how we stand in front of the name of Jesus. In simple terms, it is 'faith'. I don't usually talk about faith, but I'm talking about faith 'through Jesus Christ'.
3. We must repent and turn around.
Although we hear the word 'repent' a lot in verse 19, in today's text, Peter puts the emphasis first. The emphasis is on verse 17. This means that you, not a Roman soldier, crucified Jesus. Why was Jesus crucified? I say you did it because you didn't know. The repentance that Peter is talking about is realizing the ignorance of the past. In particular, it is to realize my ignorance about God and Jesus.
At that time, what kind of miracles will you experience while living on this earth? We are rejoiced by repentance (verse 19). Joy is when God breathes life back into my soul. Therefore, the life of believing in Jesus is a pleasant life. Therefore, you will not despair in any situation and will live with gratitude. And that's the miracle. May this life become our life, I bless you in the name of the Lord.
