Title: Mission Brings Power / Deuteronomy 34:1-8

Content Mission brings power / Deuteronomy 34:1-8, Acts 20:22-24

Six billion people live on Earth. They all have their own philosophy. A man's success or failure is determined by his philosophy. Therefore, it is important to have a blessed philosophy. If you live your life as you please, the course of your life is wrong from the beginning.

We Christians must possess a philosophy of life that is blessed by God's grace. It is to establish a right view of life in God. To have a blessed outlook on life, you must first believe that you were not born on your own, and believe that you were born because God sent you to this earth. This is the most important thing to build your outlook on life.

And man must believe that he must return to Him. At that time, we know that this earth is not the final destination and we know that we must return to God, so we can live a life of faith and humility. All things in this world, and all human beings, must return precisely to the one who gave them.

“For all things come from the Lord, and through the Lord and return to the Lord. Glory be to him forever. Amen (Romans 11:36).” That's right. We must live according to the will that God sent us to this earth and return when the time is right. There is a reason why God sent them to this earth and they return when the time is right. It's called a mission.

Our mission is the will that God sent us to this earth. “You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things. For all things were and were created according to Your will (Revelation 4:11).” The reason we sin and fall on this earth is because we do not know what God has given us and live our lives as we please. 'Sin' means 'missing the target' and refers to not hitting the target. Therefore, those who do not know what the mission is should pray until they know it.

So Jesus said to Judas Iscariot, who was living on the wrong mission, “Woe to him who betrays the Son of Man. It would have been better for me if that man had not been born” (Matthew 26:24). He says that it would be better not to be born because the life of a human being born once is eternal, and those who live without knowing the meaning are eternal in hell. Therefore, those who live according to their mission are a blessing.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith” (2 Timothy 4:7) The apostle Paul did not spare his life as he lived his mission. So that's great. Everyone has a God-given mission. A successful life depends on how well I am fulfilling the mission God has given me. Then, let's look at the principle of how to realize the mission God has given us.

1. The mission is not created by man, but is given by God.

Because the mission is the will of God the Creator, it is given by God. Therefore, it is foolish to set a purpose for one's own life. Because only the Creator knows why he made it. “I do not regard my life as of any value in any way, so that I may finish my course and the mission I received from the Lord Jesus to testify to the gospel of the grace of God” (Acts 20:24). The mission is not what I want to do, it is what I receive from the Lord. Humans fail and become difficult because they live the way they want.

Therefore, human happiness comes when we live according to the mission the Lord has given us. That is why only those who follow the path of mission become those who have joy, meaning, and happiness even when it is difficult. Those who do not know their own happiness should first pray and find out what their mission is.

The principle of finding a mission has to do with the glory of God first. No matter what you do, the glory of God must be revealed. The revelation of glory means that the work of God is revealed in the work that the person does. Second, the more you do it, the more salvation will happen. The more you do it, the more free you are spiritually. Salvation comes about drawing near to God and turning away from sin in doing it. It is not a mission to sin while doing it. Third, the value of the work is linked to eternity. It must be connected to the other side of death. It is not a mission that its value ends in death. No matter what you do, you love eternity and go with the eternal God. Fourth, the more you do it, the more grace you will live.

That's right. Our mission is to seek God's glory, salvation, and eternity, and to seek grace. It is not my mission to do it on my own. God has given you the grace to live according to that life.

2. Mission has to do with life.

The mission is to risk your life to do it. “I do not regard my life as of any value in any way, so that I may finish my course and the mission I received from the Lord Jesus to testify to the gospel of the grace of God” (Acts 20:24). Mission has to do with life. We are sent to do it, risking our lives. That is why Paul did not spare his life in order to testify of the gospel.

My mission is to discover something more precious than my life. Therefore, those who find their mission are the happiest people in the world. Such a person becomes free from all misery and fear. Because man's greatest misfortune comes from fear.

The Bible says, “Greetings Prisca and Aquila, my fellow workers in Christ Jesus. They even laid down their necks for my body, and not only me but also all the churches of the Gentiles give thanks to them” (Romans 16:3). Here, Prisca and Aquila knew that their mission was to work together in Paul's ministry, and they did not spare their lives for Paul. That is why they became the most blessed people to be recorded in the Bible. Happy are those who give their lives for the Lord. Humans are born once and die once. So, how blessed is it to give your life for a mission? Those who have discovered the mission have no fear in any difficulties in this world.

3. Mission brings power.

All the abilities God has given are given to carry out the mission. Those who do not understand the mission and cannot carry it out will not have the ability. As long as you realize your mission and fulfill that mission, you will never become weak or fail. Because God gives us the ability to exist so we can live. In principle, a person without a mission cannot receive power.

It is because those who do not have the ability or strength have a weak mission to risk their lives to work. Such a person will not succeed in anything. “Moses was one hundred and twenty years old when he died, but his eyes were not dim, and his strength did not fail (Deuteronomy 34:7).” His eyes did not become blurry until Moses died at the age of 120. This is to enable Moses to look around and lead the Israelites in the distant wilderness for 40 years, so God gave him the ability to remain blind until he died. And he did not grieve when he died at the foot of Mount Nebo, overlooking the land of Canaan, which he had longed for.

We easily say that Moses violated God's command and hit the rock twice and could not enter Canaan, but in reality, it would be his mission to lead the Israelites there. Moses returned after carrying out the God-given mission to lead the people of Israel to that place.

4. The mission is just right for the person.

It seems that the mission binds us like the law and makes it difficult and difficult, but the actual mission is what God made us fit for from the moment we were created. Therefore, the meaning and reward of our life lies in the mission given to me. And when the mission is over, going to the kingdom of God is the greatest blessing in our lives. When you find your mission, your wanderings in life are over. You can't even fall. And sin ends. Also, a person with a mission cannot die. Therefore, those who have not discovered the mission should pray for the mission to be known. And you have to confirm that it is correct with the Word. No matter what kind of work you do, those who do it with a mission and those who do not have a completely different life outcome.

Dear all! Moses and Paul in today's text lived a very difficult life, but in another aspect, they lived a truly blessed and meaningful life. Because they fulfilled their God-given mission. Amen.
