Title: Mission of Evangelism (2 Kings 07:9-11)
In verse 9 of the main text, the tragedy in the city of Samaria comes to mind and says, “Our envoy is not good. Today is a day of good news, but we are silent. If we wait until bright morning, punishment will come upon us. Now leave and go to the royal palace. Let me tell you.” He went up and reported, and saved the people from dying in the city. This is a message filled with a sense of duty from God to believers. Acts 1:8 says, “Be my witnesses to the ends of the earth.” If there is any word that Jesus asks of you, it must be, “Preach the message of salvation to all the nations of the world.” I would like to share the grace with you as I think about the four lepers who delivered today's beautiful news.
3. If we don't speak, danger will come. “If we wait until bright morning, our punishment will be upon us,” cried the four lepers. So, without waiting for the day to come, they went into Samaria, the city of death, and preached the good news. Your leper was courageous and at the same time wise. After they had painted the necessary food and objects, they felt threatened that if they did not share this beautiful message, their lives would be destroyed and punishment would be imposed on them. The news reached the city of Samaria. However, the king and the castle did not believe this fact and thought it was a scheme of the enemy, so they sent spies to confirm it, and only then came to life, opened the gates of the city, and began to live. In this event, we receive a sense of duty to spread the gospel of Christ. Our faith must not stand still or retreat, it must grow and move forward. Evangelism means spiritual exercise. Just as if you don't exercise, you become crippled, so we must become a living believer by doing the work of evangelism.
