Title: More Than Overcome (Romans 8:35-39)
Contents
We are now standing with our whole body blown by the wind from all directions. Personally, socially, and nationally, endless suffering and dreadful fear are coming to us.
Do you have the courage to stop this wind? Do you have the strength to fight the wind?
Where do you believe the power to overcome the world comes from?
In the text, the Apostle Paul speaks of the love of God to the Roman saints who are in the same doubt and suffering as we are today. And it teaches you the secret to overcoming the world with that love. What can God's love overcome? God's love overcomes all of these things. Verse 35, “Are tribulation or distress or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?”
He says that we can win more than enough if we are together. There are three problems we easily defeat.
1. It is a matter of need to eat and live.
Although Jesus said, 'Do not worry about what you will eat or drink,' we still worry about eating. that is not believable. But the Bible says. 8:32 "He who did not spare his own son, but gave him up for us, how will he not also with him also gift all things?" He says that he will give everything because he is the one who gave without sparing his most beloved son. All
What else would you like to save?
2. The problem of righteousness is a problem that falls easily.
Am I really able to stand before God without shame? If you look back on yourself, there is no sense of filth and nothing to be ashamed of. It is believed that if you go before God like this, you will surely be expelled. But in verse 33, “Who is able to bring charges against God’s elect? It is God who justifies, and who can condemn?” He does. The source of righteousness is not in my righteous deeds, but in his election.
is that
3. Suffering torments us.
We suffer more from the guilt we feel because of suffering than the pain that suffering brings. Because this suffering was paid for my sins, and I feel like God has forsaken me. But our sins have already been paid for by Jesus on the cross. Our suffering is not a punishment from God, but an expression of love. In a sinful world, living righteously according to the Word will inevitably lead to difficulties. But through this affliction
It is God's love to receive the refinement of faith and become like gold. If we go astray, God's love to save us sometimes punishes us.
God's love for us never ends. Those who believe and depend on the love of the Lord will overcome the world. You will win well.
