Title: Moses' Intercession/Numbers 12:13-16
Content 16. Moses' Intercession
Numbers 12:13-16
The story continues amid a chilling tension. When Miriam, who played a leading role in making Moses jealous and jealous, was cursed by God for leprosy, Aaron and Miriam realized that their slander was wrong. It is only now that Aaron admits that Moses is his younger brother, but far superior to him in divine authority. He asks Moses to intervene.
“Miriam and I repent of fearlessly slandering the leader God has established from evil motives. Please deliver us from this suffering. Now Miriam's leprosy is getting worse and worse, her flesh is falling off, and her fingers and toes are shrinking. I can't watch you suffer anymore, so please pray to God."
How can you turn away when your blood and blood are screaming in pain? Moses hurriedly offered an intercession to God.
“God, I beg you, heal her. Please, please.” God answers. “Forgive me as you say. But drive Miriam out of the camp, and let her repent for seven days and come in.
As a result of Moses' intercession, it was answered that Miriam's leprosy would be recovered after 7 days of bathing.
In this way, Miriam was driven out of the camp and repented in tears for 7 days. The Israelites also had to stop marching toward Canaan for 7 days because of the leaders' crimes. They stayed in Hazeroth, waiting for Miriam to be healed and return. This is an example of how great an individual's sins can have on the community (the church) and the kingdom of God. That's right. Pride destroys oneself and further hurts others.
Remember. Humility and obedience are essential, not optional, for Christians!
