Title: Mouthful Faith / Hebrews 11:1-4
When God created man, he put a gate on his mouth. This means that you should not speak recklessly because your mouth has the power to do what you say. You must be able to show great power in one word.
The most important thing for us is to purify our language so that we can speak the words of faith. Some are loyal to death and lose everything with their words.
In a thesis presented by the 'Song Word Research Society', a group of lyricists to make good lyrics, it was said that singers lived according to the words of their songs.
Singer Yoon Shim-deok, who sang the popular hymn of death in the 1920s, committed suicide while crossing the Hyeonhaetan in 1926 after doing this, one world, one world after another, as his song says.
Nam In-soo, who sang a song called Soya Song of Mourning, closed his eyes like the words of his song in 1962.
Immortal singer Lee Nan-young also died at the age of 49 from heartburn like the tears of his song Mokpo.
Cha Jung-rak, who sang the song “Love that has gone with the leaves, followed the leaves in the fall of 1968 due to brain inflammation.
Bae Ho, who called the last leaf, also became the last leaf due to nephritis and went to the other world.
Kim Jung-ho, who sang the song "Nim", also said that he was going to go, go and go, at the young age of 33, just like his song said.
Once upon a time, when mothers and grandmothers called their cute grandchildren, all they said was 'You bastard,,,,'. Then why didn't it perish? When I call them again, they say, 'Have fun, have fun'.
It is said that we have lived as much as we should without failing and not prospering.
1. Be a person who says Amen.
In Genesis 22:1-4, Abraham listened to God's command and gave his only son, Isaac, amen to God.
The temple in Jerusalem was built on the spot where Isaac was offered as a burnt offering. He is the God who was glorified on the foundation of Amen.
Isaac, who answered with Amen, also received God's great grace.
In Genesis 26:12, 13 it says, "Isaac cultivated in that land, and in that year he reaped a hundredfold, and the LORD blessed him, and he became prosperous and prosperous, and at last he was rejected."
Now, instead of Abraham's Amen, he is glorified in the church built on the foundation of Jesus, who is the Amen. Therefore, the church must be the church of Amen, following Jesus who is Amen.
2. You must speak words that save people.
The power of a single word is so great that it saves or kills those who hear it. Furthermore, if you get hit by a single bullet, your personality will die and you will lose your faith.
There is a saying in the Talmud that if you have a good jar, use it now, it may break tomorrow. We must speak now before it is too late.
There are three kinds of people.
Spiders, ants and bees. The spider creates a snare from its mouth. A person who shouldn't be there.
There are ants, but they are mana. But a person like a bee who pours honey out of its mouth is a necessary person.
3. There must be words that express the truth.
Since time immemorial, we have regarded non-expression as a virtue. But the truth must be expressed. In particular, love and comfort should be expressed.
A certain girl did a lot of fan-following. To a bachelor living in an unknown world,,,,
Finally, the two met. The girl is disappointed. When I met him, the bachelor had only one eye.
The maiden, possessed by a sense of betrayal, grumbles, saying, “Why did you deceive me and ask me to meet you so shamelessly, that we wished we had only met through letters?”
The bachelor says that I have never cheated on you, and that I have been sincere.
Then the maiden asked, "Why didn't you ever say you had one eye until today?"
The bachelor said that I didn't tell you from the beginning.
When asked when that happened, the first letter I wrote was, "I saw you from afar. Maybe you are so beautiful. I fell in love at first sight."
The true value of gold is that it does not deteriorate over time.
The refined gold refined in the furnace does not deteriorate or decay over time.
The beauty of gold is also that it is non-toxic.
(1 Peter 1:7) That the trial of your faith, more precious than gold that perishes even though it is tried by fire, may be found to praise, glory, and honor at the appearing of Jesus Christ.
We must speak the language of truth and incorruption as gold.
4. You should say blessings
① Isaac blessed Jacob (Gen. 27:26-29).
②Jacob also blessed the 12 sons (Genesis 49)
③David also blessed his son (1 Kings 2:2-4).
I hope to be a blessed person.
5. You must open your mouth to the sky.
Abel in today's text opened his mouth to God. It lives up to today, 6,000 years later, and teaches a lesson.
① We must open our mouths to pray (Psalm 81:10,11).
I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt. Open your mouth wide and I will fill it. But my people did not listen to me, and Israel did not want me.
♪ He who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
Whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
Hallelujah, hallelujah, you will be saved Hallelujah, hallelujah, you will be saved ♬
② You must open your mouth to sing praises.
Among the anecdotes of the Korean War, there is an anecdote called "singing military police."
It happened in F Company of the 5th Marine Regiment during the Korean War. Sergeant Schultz was standing guard in a trench when he was suddenly attacked by a guerrilla unit of the People's Army. bang! With the sound of gunfire, the quiet camp began to rumble, and the allies were bewildered and did not know what to do.
Sergeant Schultz, who was on guard, is shot and collapsed, singing a hymn.
He stood on the cross on Mount Calvary, a sign of the suffering of the Lord.
I love the rough cross because the Lord sheds His precious blood.
I will love the cross of the Lord until the final victory
I will hold on to the rough cross until I receive the shining crown
The strange thing is that while the hymn continued, the gunfire stopped and the People's Army guerrillas ran away for some reason. Hallelujah!
The 5th Marine Regiment chaplain said:
"His hymns had a really mysterious power. Although he had a poor voice, he sang the hymns with all his heart as he was dying. The hymns gave infinite courage and hope to the bewildered allies, but for the guerrillas that attacked the People's Army, they had no choice but to flee. There was no fear.”
Everyone, whenever, wherever, in any situation, when you sing a song, God is with you in the song. The walls of Jericho fell while the Israelite soldiers sang praises.
When David sang, the evil spirit possessed by Saul was cast out.
When Paul and Silas sang, they experienced the presence of God.
When we sang, things that were entangled were released.
Acts 16:26 says, "Everyone's shackles have been thrown away."
It is not just that the bonds that bound our bodies when we sang are unraveled. There, the chains of all filthy sins that were in the hearts of sinners were released.
Exalt and praise the name of the Lord Jesus
Praise the Lord of all with the crown of gold
Giving the crown of gold to the Lord of all praise
When they did, the spear fell from the hands of the toe-in and tears were shed.
Luther, who held the torch of reform high, received a summons from the Worms Parliament and rode a wagon, and every tile of the city's tiled houses looked like a demon attacking Luther himself.
Luther sang hymn 368 in his carriage.
My lord is a strong city, a shield and a weapon
He will rescue us from the great tribulation.
Someone this longevity is the Lord Jesus Christ, Lord of hosts
Luther, who sang the hymn, took off the chains of fear and loneliness that were holding his heart and went forward boldly.
Today, our physical ailments, sorrows, pains, and any kind of pain or heavy burdens are taken off and released when we sing hymns.
Your praise will unravel the power of Satan and the main chains that bind us to this area and to unravel that work.
Through this praise, I hope that the trumpet of the gospel, whose number of salvation is increasing day by day, will be sounded widely.
The early church traditionally used Lent as an opportunity for believers to train their faith. We pray in the name of the Lord that we may renew our faith and live with all-powerful faith during this Lent.
