Title: My Beloved Brothers

Contents

Bible: 1 Corinthians 15:50-58 Title: My dear brothers

A historian famously said this: “There are three great events in human history. The first event is that God became a man and came to this world, the second event is that humans killed that God, and the third event is that the dead God rose again.”

We who believe in Jesus Christ are more blessed than anyone in this world. Hallelujah! There are two reasons for this. First, because Jesus Christ, whom we believe in, overcame death and was resurrected, we also have the resurrection of eternal life. The second reason is that, although not everyone in this world is convinced of the world after death, we live with clear hopes and convictions. It is a solid and unshakable life.

In fact, as society has become more complex and evil, it has become very difficult to maintain a pure and sincere faith. However, a wavering faith cannot inherit the kingdom of God, so it must stand firm. Even if the world changes and becomes evil, we must keep our faith. That's why Isaiah 26:3 says that those who are strong in heart will keep in peace, in peace. The word wick means the will of the heart, that is, the will. It means a firm heart that does not give up on one's will and one's heart. The text says, “My beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always devoted to the work of the Lord.” A person is shaken when placed in two environments. One loses his temper and becomes arrogant when things go too well. The other is too difficult and easy to get discouraged and frustrated when it doesn't work.

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast and not shaken” (v. 58a).

If we are to become strong and unshakable saints,

1. We must stand firm in our faith and the Word (Colossians 1:23).

“In the faith . . . If we do not waver in the hope of the gospel, we will.”

2. It is a life that puts more effort into the work of the Lord.

“Be always more diligent in the work of the Lord. for you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord” (v. 58b).

These are the commands God gave us through Paul. Those who have the hope of resurrection must become more diligent in the work of the Lord. How many things are there in this world? You need to know how precious the Lord's work is among many things.

In the text, we should pay attention to the words “more” and “strive”.

Why should we “give more diligence” in the work of the Lord?

① Because it is a way to repay the grace of the Lord who saved us.

② And because this is the duty of the saints. However, when you put more effort into the work of the Lord, God's reward will follow.

He said that our labor is not in vain in the Lord if we become more diligent in the Lord's work even though we are only doing what we ought to do because of the grace of the Lord.

In fact, everything in the world comes to an end when you die. But I believe that the sweat, toil, and hard work for the Lord will be given back to us as a reward in heaven.

When we do the Lord's work, we should do it with joy, with thanksgiving, and with all our lives. If I know that this is the duty of my life and do the Lord's work, then the Lord gives me strength, power, and grace to do it, not my own. So, I hope that God will allow you to do greater things, and believe that God will work to make you able to handle it.

Just as a running bicycle does not fall, our faith does not fall if we work hard in the Lord's work. Although you have to work hard in the world, I hope you will do your best in the Lord's work with all your heart and with all your heart and with a willing heart (Isa 6:8) and zeal (Romans 12:11). I believe that God will accompany you in your hand and footsteps and pour out His infinite grace on you like a waterfall.

When we live a life devoted to the Lord's work with such passion, the world pays attention to us. We will listen carefully to the news of the resurrection. Through us, we can see Jesus Christ, the Lord of life.

This is the life of a believer with the hope and assurance of the resurrection.
