Title: My Beloved Son
Contents
Hosea 11:1~4 My dear son!
Verse 1: “When Israel was a child, I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt.”
From heaven he said to Jesus, “You are my beloved Son, in you I am well pleased.” reveals your relationship with God in your voice. The text reveals the relationship between the people of Israel and God.
1. Relations between God and the people of Israel (see v. 1, 2nd half)
“…I called my son out of Egypt”
relationship between God and the people of Israel
“For it is your husband who made you.” “Then he will say, ‘I will return to my husband, whom I saw, because the conditions in those days were more prosperous than they are now.”
The wife, Israel, must keep chastity toward her husband, God, and must remain a pure woman.
“For this is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, the sheep of his hand, and we want you to hear his voice today.”
Psalm 23:1 “The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want.”
“Who are you, man, that you dare to accuse God? How can the things that have been made tell the builder that I have made me like this?”
“Who do I have in heaven but you? On earth I have no one to long for but you.”
Exodus 4:22 “Israel is my son, my firstborn” (also in verse 1)
My son You said that you are the son I love, but the meaning of those words is the same.
Our relationship with God has already been established above and needs to be reaffirmed.
You must know that this kind of grace of love is not only the people of Israel in the past, but the [me] of today.
2. He said that he called my beloved son out of Egypt and delivered him. (Text 1)
“I called my son out of Egypt”
Because it was [my beloved son]. see Exodus 2:24
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world”
God led Israel with a strong hand and an outstretched arm, so Israel came out of Egypt.
We must remember that we have escaped from the seat of sin.
3. He said that he would teach me the steps of my beloved son. (Text Verse 2)
“The more the prophets called on them, the more they moved away from them, and they sacrificed to the Baals and burned incense before carved images. But I taught Ephraim to walk.
1) The first purpose is to serve God. (Ex 3:12)
“...you will serve God on this mountain, and this is the proof that I sent you.” Exodus 19:6 “You shall be to me a kingdom of priests and a holy people. You shall tell the children of Israel these words.”
However, the Israelites who came out of Egypt turned away from God and turned away from God, serving idols, and disobeying God by committing sins, so they deserve God's wrath.
2) To receive the guidance of the Good Shepherd.
When you were about to take a side path, that is, a sinful path, a wrong path, didn't you teach and guide me as I taught you how to walk?
3) It is settling down in Canaan.
When you lost your resting place and wandered, not knowing what to do, I held you in my arms and hugged you tight, and I wiped you when tears of pain and sorrow fell from your eyes. Why don't you realize this?
To all the members of the Naejeon Church who have decided to live by faith!
Let's reexamine our relationship with God. I pray in the name of the Lord that new blessings and the grace of power in the Lord's arms will be filled to all of us who go out through faith. Amen
