Psalm 74:12-24 My King, My God
We approach the living God through worship on the first Sunday of 2010. We pray that you will become a church that worships the Lord God with a single heart. As the new year approaches, do you have a lot of plans and resolutions?
What plans and commitments did you have? What do you need to remember? We are not of the earth, we are of the heavens.
It is not a person who has hope on this earth, but a person who has hope in eternity. I wish you all the best in planning your year from an eternity perspective. If we live faithfully before the God we serve and worship, I believe that amazing blessings and grace will be with us this year.
first. God is King and has all power.
Don't forget that God is King. Verse 12 says, “God has been my King from ancient times, and he has given salvation to men.” The confession, “God is my king and me,” is acknowledging that “I am a governed people.” There are two kinds of people
“Those who live as kings and those who live as people”
Samuel, who anointed Israel's first king, Saul, reminded us that our King is only one God. “Saul, you will be king, but do not forget that the true King over you and Israel is God.” But Saul rejected these words. They forsake God's Word, reject God's rule, and rule by themselves with the kingship. - Ultimately, pride, abandonment of God. The end of the man who becomes king himself - God's abandonment
King David is completely dependent on God and wants to be ruled by God. Despite having the king's sovereignty, he always asks God.
2 Samuel 6:19 “David inquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up?”
Verse 25 “And David did as the LORD commanded” Especially when the ark of God came into the city of David, he danced like a child and rejoiced with all the Israelites.
David's central view of faith was that he did not forget that he was a people ruled by God.
saints, Are you the master of your life? Are you God?
If you think that the time, family, children, and material allotted to you are mine and plan and use it in your own way, then this person is a person who wants to become a king. However, those who believe that the time, family, children, and material given to me are all given to me by God and want to receive the Lord's rule are those who live as God's people.
Anyone who wants to become a king on their own and rule everything will be under a lot of stress. Eventually, you will follow in Saul's footsteps. But the people under God's rule are given peace and have a comfortable life. God's work of salvation takes place in every life. I ask you, saints, to entrust all areas of your life to God. And let the Lord guide you.
Second, God is the One who breaks the head of evil. “Verses 12-14”
He divides the seas by His power, and breaks the heads of dragons in the midst of the waters.
The Red Sea and Jordan River are various environments that block the way of God's people. These are problems we cannot solve on our own. But God shares them. you break it
“Share” is broken. bend it away It means to make useless.
Throw away the pieces that "break". It means to completely dissipate.
You have broken the heads of dragons, this dragon's name is Leviathan.
The name of the force that opposes God is the dragon force and Leviathan. God fights them. The meaning of “shattered” is “to crush underfoot”. You are using a very strong word. Because this power is the power that overthrew Adam and Eve. This is because it is the power that has made God's people into the people of hell.
What kind of existence is Leviathan today? Leviathan is symbolic of those who oppose God.
When it comes to opposing God - things that take the place of God - this is a very important part.
: Things that are more important than God We must remember that this is Leviathan.
: Time view - Give at least 1 hour for your relationship with God.
: Labor view - Clear the purpose of work - Not only for possessions, but for the glory of God
: The most important thing to watch out for is the material view. - If you value it more than God
Saints, the sea, the water, and the dragons will surely block us and bring us fear. It will bring you stress. It will create resentment. It will bring frustration and despair. But don't be afraid, God our Father will destroy them completely. It will make it useless. He will cut them into pieces and scatter them.
He will provide you with manna and quails in the wilderness.
Miracles will appear in your life, like water springing out of a rock.
Our God is the God who moved today. Look forward to it. Look forward to it.
Third, God is the keeper of His people. (verse 18)
If you take a good look at today's text, you will see that the psalmist makes three prayers before the living God. These three supplications are the supplications we must cry out for in 2010.
The first is the earnest appeal of ‘remember me’ (verse 18) four times.
Human memory is limited. I live with a bad memory that remembers bad memories more than good ones. But God remembers everything. He is the one who remembers all the promises from creation to now. God is the God of covenant and the God of fulfillment. He is a man who always keeps his promises.
Does God know me as he knows Abraham?
John 15:16 “You did not choose me, I chose you and appointed you.”
John 10:3 “The sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.” You know my weakness. He knows me so well that he helps us from time to time.
second. This appeal to ‘look back’ is an appeal to the faithful character of God.
God is the King of the nations. We are a people under His rule. Strictly speaking, we are children of God through Jesus Christ.
God God's children are living like this now.
God God's children are living in pain like this now.
God The children of God are now living in shame like this. look back on us
I can't stand my child being ignored by others.
Whether it's an adult or a child, it's unbearable if we treat our children too harshly.
When a kindergarten joke is held, the parents are observing. - Looking at the parents' eyes at this time, they are not interested in a child who can dance well. I am only interested in my child. It's beautiful even if it's wrong, and pretty even if it's just standing. Why? is it my child?
We are children of God.
So is the heart of our Heavenly Father. God's love for me and you is unchanging. Sometimes when I feel like I'm alone. When fear comes, when you are upset, try saying, ‘Father, take a look.
You will be able to hear your father's voice.
Fear not, I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are mine; I will be with you when I pass through the waters.
Heavenly Father will be with you.
The third is an appeal to ‘Rise up’
This is asking God's children to be saved when they are harassed and stumbled by their enemies. Looking at the history of the Bible, God has never turned away from us when we plead for salvation. Even if we were in trouble because we sinned ourselves, God stood up and helped us when we cried out. Son of David, when I cried out to you to have mercy on me, Jesus listened and listened. And you fixed it.
My King, my God, will protect and protect us as God's people starting 2010. Even if you block, threaten, and frighten countless seas, waters, and dragons, they will completely trample you, break them, and scatter them in all directions.
And when we appeal to the Lord, He will remember, He will turn to Him, and He will rise up to help.
I pray for miracles and works that will shake the heavens, the earth, and the nations when you and the king, my God, fully depend on, obey, and go forward in faith.
