Title: My Rock (Psalm 18:2)
Contents American theologian Henshaw said, “Anyone who thinks they can be safe without God or who says they are unsafe with God cannot be called a Christian.” Let us thank the Lord for protecting and guiding us up to this time. Then the Lord we will trust
1. Trust in the Lord, who is a strong rock.
When building a house, some people lay the foundation on the sand, perhaps none. It is common sense that a house becomes strong only when it is established on the rock that has been warned and a foundation is built. The same is true of our religious life. We will build a good house when we lay our foundation on the strong rock, the Lord.1) (Matthew 7:24) Therefore, whoever hears these words of mine and puts them into practice will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock (Matthew 7:25) The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and crashed against that house, but it did not fall.
2) (1 Corinthians 3:10) By the grace of God that has been given to me, I have laid the foundation like a wise builder, and others build upon it, but let each one be careful how he builds upon it (1 Corinthians 3:11) No one is able to lay another foundation except the one laid down, and this foundation is Jesus Christ.
3) (Psalm 19:14) May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable before you, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.
4) (1 Samuel 2:2) There is no one holy like the LORD, for there is no one but you, and there is no rock like our God.
2. Trust in the Lord, a safe fortress.
When fighting a war, a safe fortress will be secured, and those who fight will be able to save their lives and seek victory. As believers we fight the good fight of faith, we cannot always win. When you are weary, weary, and discouraged, you must recharge your strength in a secure fortress and go out into battle again.1) (Proverbs 3:5) Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding (Proverbs 3:6) Acknowledge him, and he will direct your way.
2) (Psalm 91:2) I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge, my fortress, and the God in whom I trust.
3) (1 Chronicles 5:20) And they were helped, and the Hagarites and all who were with them were defeated by their hand, for they trusted in God as they fought, and God heard their cry.
4) (Psalm 144:2) The LORD is my kindness, my fortress, my stronghold, my deliverer, my shield and my refuge, the one who makes my people subject to me.
3. Trust in the Lord who is the perfect shield.
A shield is what blocks the enemy's sword or arrow in a fight. Without this shield, it is obvious that you will die while evading in battle. Our battle is not with flesh and blood, but with spirits of evil. Armed with the shield of faith, resist the devil, and they will flee. Let us trust in the Lord, who is the perfect shield.1) (Ephesians 6:16) Having the shield of faith above all things, by which we are able to extinguish all the fires of the wicked,
2) (Luke 1:69) He has raised up for us the horn of salvation in the house of David his servant.
3) (Psalm 112:9) He has scattered wealth and given to the needy; his righteousness endures forever, and his horns are exalted.
4) (Genesis 15:1) After this the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram, for I am your shield and your exceedingly great reward.
