Title: My Son! son!

my son! son!

2 Samuel 18:33

I. background of the text

A. David's family: This text records one of the events of the family history of King David, the second king of Israel, about 3000 years ago. David, who was a man after God's own heart, became king under his providence despite many hardships, and through his grace he made the kingdom of Israel the most powerful at the time. According to the custom of the time, he had many concubines, and about 29 children were born between them.

II. parent's heart

A. Calm of Rebellion: Absalom, who started the rebellion, systematically committed the evil deed of sleeping with the concubines left behind by his father in order to proceed with the rebellion, and David faced the greatest crisis of his life. However, to balance all this, David's men started a war, and David asked his men to treat Absalom kindly to the men who went out to subdue the rebels. In a surprising way, the rebellion is brought to peace, but Absalom, who flees after losing the war, is slaughtered horribly, contrary to his father's wishes. The text is the scene where David, upon hearing of the death of his son Absalom, calls out his name and cries out. It was because he was Absalom's father that he poured out these sorrows over him, despite the fact that he was the son who had tried to kill him and usurp the throne, the son who had put him to shame. This is the love of parents for their children.

B. Parental love: Children can be hurt by their parents, and parents can be hurt by their children. However, one thing to note is that the wounds a child receives from their parents are not forgotten for a long time and are not easily erased, but the wounds a parent receives from their children do not last long. This causes them to not love and serve their parents deeply. The power of love is the power of memories. Love is supported by memories. The children who have beautiful memories that cannot be erased live with the conviction that their parents still love me no matter how many times they encounter hurtful things. But the fathers of our day have had very difficult times to do so. There were too many times when I couldn't express all the love I had in my heart.

IV. Conclusion and application

Sharing 1. Let's share the life we practiced after listening to last week's word, 'According to knowledge' (1 Peter 3:7). Let's share the new things we learned with the love index.

Sharing 2. 2 Samuel 18:33 Let's share the overall content of the sermon and tell each other the parts that came to us deeply.

Sharing 3. The wounds that parents receive from their children do not last long, but why do the wounds that children receive from their parents last?

Sharing 4. Like the heart of David weeping for Absalom, who tried to kill himself, what do the love of God and parents have in common? Let's go through our memories and tell us the memories of feeling the love of our parents.

Sharing 5. Let's talk about the first time we felt and moved by the love of God, the Father of the soul. Also, if you have recently felt that Heavenly Father's love, let's share it. 2006-05-28
