Bible: Ezekiel 28:1-26/ Word: Self-absorption and leap! April 14, 2002 Written by the head of Grace Church.
Hallelujah! Today is a really good day. Today, through the word of the living God, I ask in the name of the Lord that all the saints will be forgiven and look to the Lord with a pure heart by loving and forgiving each other and repenting of our wrong thoughts and actions to God.
The king of Tire mentioned in today's text was a person who satisfactorily enjoyed wealth and glory through God's great grace and blessing. At first, like all people, he had a humble heart and lived a life that pleases God, but as time goes by, he begins to feel that his environment has led him to his own wisdom and understanding.
And the consequences of such wrong thoughts and actions are ultimately leading to evil and death for themselves, their neighbors, and many others. After reading the text, our members should be more humble and humble when God pours out blessings. The Bible tells us to always be humble.
1. Tire is not God and cannot be a god.
Ezekiel 28:1 Again the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
28:2 Son of man, say to the king of Tire, Thus saith the Sovereign LORD, thy heart is proud, saying, I am a god, and I sit in the seat of God, in the midst of the sea. no
28:6 Therefore saith the Sovereign GOD, thy heart pretended to be the heart of God.
God blessed the king of Tire and made him strong in many ways, and especially through the waterway trade, he obtained an innumerable amount of material. Because of his material abundance, he was weakened spiritually and grew more materially.
The king of Tire was materially successful. All they had was gold and silver, so that no one would be envious. It was only material things to put forward and show. Although he succeeded physically, he could not become a god. No matter how rich and prosperous a man may be, man is only a creature of God for eternity.
2 Timothy 3:2 People are self-loving, money-loving, proud, proud, slanderer, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
Even if you have a lot of material things that others do not have, even if you have talents and abilities that others do not have, it is the grace and grace of the Lord that God has given to individuals and groups. You can't say this is a success because you're good at it. However, in today's text, the king of Tire seems to have thought that he was successful because of his abundant, generous and relaxed environment. He confessed that he was a god.
He pretended to be the heart of God.
28:8 And I will plunge you into a pit, that you may die in the midst of the sea, like one slain in the midst of the sea.
28:9 Do you still say that I am God in the presence of those who slaughter you? Only men, not gods, are among those who strike you.
Tire was a country in the middle of the sea, but it was a fortress. It was a country that would never be destroyed even if other countries invaded it.
So, why not have a proud mind and heart?
He has run a successful highway in the perfection of human wisdom, but God destroys it through man)
God hates the proud and pours out grace on the humble. Even if we live a successful life because of our personal efforts, and even if we start a successful business with our own abilities, we are still human beings created by God. Humans are just humans. A species is only a species. Man cannot replace God, and servants cannot be masters.
2. We too must beware of narcissism.
Ezekiel 28:12 Son of man, write a lamentation for the king of Tire and say to him, Thus saith the Sovereign LORD, You were a perfect seal, full of wisdom, and perfectly beautiful.
This speaks of the fact that God-given wisdom has led the ideal maritime nation well. However, rather than relying on the God who gave wisdom, they depended more on themselves, their idols, and their material possessions.
In the early days of politics, the king of Tire ruled pure and clean, but as time and years passed, morals and ethics of course! He lived his life for his own good.
Ezekiel 28:3 You have come wiser than Daniel, and there is nothing that you cannot understand in secret.
28:4 You have gained wealth by your wisdom and understanding, and have stored up gold and silver in treasuries.
28:5 By your great wisdom and business, you have increased your wealth, and your heart has become proud because of your wealth.
28:6 Therefore saith the Sovereign GOD, thy heart pretended to be the heart of God.
28:7 Wherefore, I will come with strangers, the fiercest of the nations, against you; and they will draw their swords against the beauty of your wisdom, and defile your glory.
Ezekiel 28:10 Thou shalt die at the hand of a stranger, as the uncircumcised shall die, saith I, saith the Lord GOD.
Rather than relying on God, he relied more on his sexuality rather than obeying the Word, he trusted and loved his knowledge more than he obeyed and obeyed God, and he sought pleasure more than he trusted God. They built better ships and houses to rely on.
Psalm 127:1 Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain; unless the LORD guards the city, the watchman keeps watch in vain.
127:2 It is in vain that you rise up early, lie down late, and eat the bread of toil; therefore the LORD gives sleep to the one he loves.
People don't know themselves well. I don't know too much about my inner and outer things Everyone thinks that they are doing well, so they eat well and live well. We need to get out of our own intoxication. We must abandon our proud heart and humbly cut our knees before God. You must seek God's help.
The Pharisees in the New Testament were rebuked by Jesus. They give tithes to God in tithes and vegetables, but they put aside their love and trust in the settled God and love and trust in their neighbors and put things first.
In the end, I received a lot of reproof from the Lord. (Matthew 23:23)
The Bible tells us to be careful lest we fall if we think that we have been made. 1 Corinthians 10:12 Wherefore, let him who thinks he is standing beware lest he stumble.
3. At one time, he dwelt in the glory of God.
28:13 Once in Eden, the garden of God, you adorned yourself with all kinds of precious stones: chalcedony, sapphire, chalcedony, topaz, onyx, spear, sapphire, sapphire, sapphire, carnelian, and gold. And the harp was prepared
28:14 You are the anointed cherubim; I have set you up, and you have been on the holy mountain of God, to and from the ore of fire.
Although God raised the king of Tire as a person in his time, he had to be more humble and humble, but he failed to show humility and worshiped idols, so he was judged by God.
No one should live for himself, but only for the glory of God. (Romans 14:8) Whether you eat or drink, you are told to do it all for the glory of God. (1 Corinthians 10:31) You must keep in mind that this glory is absolutely not for personal gain.
28:15 From the day you were formed, all your ways were perfect, and at last unrighteousness was revealed.
28:16 Because of the abundance of your trade, you are filled with violence in your midst, and you have sinned; therefore I defiled you, you cherubim, and I cast you out of the mountain of God, and destroyed you among the ore.
28:17 You are proud of your beauty, and you have defiled your wisdom by your magnificence; I have cast you to the ground and set you before kings to be a spectacle to them.
28:18 You have defiled all your sanctuaries because of your iniquity and your trade is unjust; I have made fire from within you and consumed you, and made you to ashes on the earth in the sight of all who saw you.
28:19 All who know you among all peoples will be astonished because of you; you will become a deterrent, and you will never be again.
28:20 Again the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
28:21 Son of man, turn your face to Sidon and prophesy against him.
28:26 They shall dwell in peace among them, and build houses and plant vineyards, and when I visit them all around them whom I despised, they shall live in peace, and they shall know that I am the LORD their God.
At one time he dwelt in the ore (in the glory of God), but he himself was destroyed in the ore (in the glory of God) because he had a proud heart and despised Almighty God.
Thinking about the text, even if you are a little lacking, you should live a humble life with a humble heart. It is said that whatever a man sows, he will also reap. We must not sow evil, but must sow good that belongs to God.
Jesus said to the Pharisees, "You are self-righteous before men, but God knows your hearts, for you who are exalted among men are hated by God" (Luke 16:15).
Example: Self-Leaping (Feat): Catharsis
Catharsis is the medical term for defecation. It signifies purity by purifying the inside. But it is also self-sublimation, purification, jumping or leap. It expresses more spiritual growth through many sufferings and trials (Romans 8:18). People who have failed many times can promise a lot of success. When I am weak, I am strong
This leap requires effort and effort, but in the end, God must guide you. Without God's work and protection, there is no leap in oneself. There is no real change and leap forward.
