Title: Net Life/John 21:1-11
Content I. Empty Net Life (1-5)
Despite meeting the resurrected Lord, Peter stays with the other disciples and says, “I have to go fishing” and goes fishing.
The other six disciples also said, “We will go together,” so they all went fishing together and worked hard all night long. But nothing caught. They struggled to death and did nothing but empty nets without holding anything. My life as a dish as well as as a fisherman failed.
In the same way, there are many times in the world where we have nothing left even if we struggle and work hard to catch up. Life is like an empty net, with nothing left to do with effort and hardship.
II. full net life (6)
Jesus came to the disciples who had suffered all night and could not catch any fish. Jesus said to these disciples, “Cast your net on the right side of the boat, and you will find it.”
When the disciples cast their nets at them, they were unable to lift due to the abundance of fish. In fact, the disciples are people with thick bones on the shore of Tiberias. But Jesus told them to cast their nets on the right side of the boat. It is a very shallow place, as it is only deep enough for a person to walk. Still, the Lord told me to throw it, so I threw it and caught a lot of things.
They threw away their own experiences, knowledge, and thoughts, and the Lord told them to do it, so they threw their nets in the direction the Lord wanted, and their nets became full.
Ⅲ. Unbreakable net life (7-11)
Even if the net is full of fish, it is of no use if the net is torn. It is inevitable to miss everything.
Like Peter, you must have a burning love and passion for Jesus. And like the other disciples, you must have a sincere life of helping each other.
