Never give up (Proverbs 24:16)

While driving a car, you will come across car bumps in the alleyways. At this point, people react in two ways. There are people who think that one type of person is an obstacle because it is an obstacle to driving. Another kind sees it as a stepping stone as essential to protect the lives of young children. To be successful in life, 10% depends on what you encounter, while the remaining 90% depends on how you react when you encounter it. Today's text, Proverbs 24:16, says, "For though the righteous shall fall seven times, he will rise again, but the wicked fall by calamity." Failure is not failure to fall, but failure to fall but not get up.

The great characters of the Bible are those who fell but got up. David fell, but got up. David fell for the 7th commandment by breaking Uriah's wife. Also, in order to cover up the incident, it is Sarah who committed indirect murder by sending Uriah, a loyal subject, to the fiercest battlefield to be killed. However, after hearing the rebuke of the prophet Nathan, he repented and rose again, becoming the most respected and great king in Israel's history. The flag of Israel still uses the Star of David. Jacob was a man who fell by deceiving his dark-eyed father, Isaac. But he fell, but got up again and became the father of the 12 tribes of Israel. Paul was the chief of the assailants, persecutors, and sinners. Although Peter was a failure who denied knowing Jesus three times, he rose again and became a great apostle.

It was during the American football final in 1929. In the final final, the Yellow Jackets from Tag University, Georgia, and the Bears from California faced off. As the two teams leveled off and the first half was tied 5-5, a player named Roy Rigels of the Bears team grabbed the ball and ran towards the goal of his side, just before a touchdown. He lost his sense of direction because of how hard he had played the game and ran towards his side. One player who saw this made a tackle and the two fell, and the other player picked up the ball and passed it over, recording a two-run run. The first half ended 7:5. During the break after the first half, California's Bearsteam coach, Nibs Price, returned the erroneous player. This player didn't know he would be hired, but thanks to the coach for giving him another chance, he did his best to play in the second half, turning around and leading to victory.

Peter is a man full of mistakes and errors. However, it is the Lord who found Peter who had made a mistake as far as the Sea of Galilee. In John 21:15, he said, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” He followed me. The conditions for restoration to raise Peter from the fall are love and persistence. Dear brothers and sisters, there is a good companion on this road where we rise again and walk. Isaiah 42:4 says, “He does not fade, he does not become discouraged.” The Lord does not fade and does not become discouraged. The Lord who never gives up will be a companion in our lives, so please never give up.

Never give up is a famous speech by Winston Churchill. Churchill was British Prime Minister who won World War II. Churchill was speaking at the graduation ceremony of his alma mater from which he graduated. At the high school he graduated from, he asked me to speak for his juniors. At least, since I am the prime minister of the Han Dynasty and a senior who graduated from that school, I thought I would probably give a long speech to my juniors. But when he went up to the pulpit, he threw only four words and left. The saying was “Never, never, never give up”. Dear brothers and sisters, never give up.

After World War II, Japan was left in ruins. If you think about Iraq today, it would be similar. General Douglas MacArthur entered as the commander of the occupation forces in the economically devastated Japanese land. I looked at Japan in ruins and wondered how it could be restored after the war. The brand 'Japan' was perceived as 'bad quality' and “Made in Japan” was a bad trademark. General MacArthur summoned America's top quality control expert, Dr. Edward Deming. Dr. Deming gathered Japanese engineers and factory managers and advised, 'If we strive for quality development while continuously improving, no matter how small, we will become an economic powerhouse in 30 years.' After that, all Japanese engineers imported automobiles and home appliances from the United States and improved the quality one by one to make a product, and 30 years later, it could become the world's largest economy.

The problem is you just have to change your attitude. Dear saints, Change your attitude for the Kingdom of God. The Bible says this like this. In 1 Thessalonians 4:1 it says, “We beseech and exhort you in the Lord Jesus, that we have received from us how you ought to walk and what pleases God, so be more diligent in what you do.” This means to try to get better. Improve even by 1% every day.

When are people willing to give up? The first is when you give up when you say "I've done all I can!" The second is when you give up when you say, “That's enough!” If we call 1 for no pain at all, and 10 for extreme pain, 5 or 7 or 8, people give up that this is enough. Satan never invites you to give up. This is enough and I recommend satisfaction. Satan catches a little bit of grievance and changes his life.

You have to train to see the good. Look at David. David didn't look at Goliath, he looked at God. This is the secret to not giving up. If you look at Goliath (1 Samuel 17:24), he is tall and strong, and he probably gave up. But David didn't look at Goliath, he looked to the living God behind Goliath. 1 Samuel 17:45 says, “In the name of the living Jehovah of hosts you go forth.” Look to the living God, do not give up, do not be discouraged, and I pray that you will become victorious saints like David today.
