1. Jesus' Conversation with the Pharisees
(1) Conversation
① Pharisee: “Do you allow divorce?” (2)
②Jesus: “What did Moses say about divorce?” (3)
③ Pharisee: “I said good. He said that anyone only needs to write a divorce paper.” (4)
(2) Teachings of Jesus
①Moses said so because your hearts are hardened (5)
② God never permitted divorce (6)
a. God made man male and female from the creation of the heavens and the earth (6)
b. Therefore a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two become one flesh (7)
c. Man must not separate what God has joined together (9)

① Whoever divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery with another woman (11)
② If a wife divorces her husband and marries another man, that woman also commits adultery (12).
Ⅱ.Research (Application to Life)
1. People's Wrong Minds and Actions
① Hard heart (5)
a. They are misusing and damaging the good system (marriage system) provided by God.
B. Moses instituted the divorce letter system to prevent divorce if possible, but on the contrary, humans wrote divorce papers and divorced easily.
②The scheming of the Pharisees
a. When Jesus taught the principles of forgiveness and love, the Pharisees tested Jesus over the matter of divorce.
B. If it is okay to divorce, I was going to question whether Jesus’ teaching that ‘we must forgive and love’ was wrong.
C. If you said you shouldn't get a divorce, you were going to ask why you are breaking the law of Moses.
2. Jesus' Teaching
① The marriage system was established by God.
a. God created male and female
B. When they grow up, they leave their parents and let different men and women meet and start a family.
②Therefore, no one can destroy a family recklessly.
A. If a man divorces his wife and marries another woman, or b. a woman divorces her husband and marries another man, it is adultery.
3. The Right Attitude of Man to the Marriage System
① Since the marriage system is provided by God, the purpose of marriage must be immediately recognized.
a. He said that the purpose of creating man was for God's glory, so the marriage system was also prepared for God's glory.
b. When men and women who are different in every way meet and form a family, the Lord wants to see how they live in harmony with each other and share love.
②Therefore, we should not marry in order to achieve the purpose of man.
A. It is natural for a person to pursue happiness, but the idea that the way to achieve it with the help (or use) of others should be abandoned.
b. Those who have faith, as the Lord has told us, should build a blessed family by achieving harmony through a life of service to one another.
③ Divorce occurs because people have selfish thoughts.
