Title: No Other Gospel (Galatians 1:1-10)
[Galatians 1:1-10]
The book of Galatians was written in Ephesus about AD 57 during Paul's third missionary journey. The reason Paul wrote letters to the churches in Galatia was because a Jewish religious teacher in Galatia was corrupting the fundamental truth of being justified by faith, that is, the true gospel while teaching that people must keep the Mosaic Law in order to be saved. is. And because of the tricks of deceptive people who all flocked to them and hid among them, many churches have turned away from the gospel of the true truth.
We can see in verse 6 that the apostle Paul was immediately filled with great sorrow and surprise about the religious defects of the churches of Galatia. We should also consider whether we are making the same mistakes and mistakes. First, they point out that they have left the one who called them. (Verse 6) In a very brief moment they lost the respect and interest in the grace of Christ that they seemed to possess. Second, the law preceded the gospel. It is too easily passed over to those who teach that we are justified by works of the law. To such people, Paul is resolutely saying, 'Cursed be the end of those who preach a different gospel or follow a different gospel. (Verses 8, 9)
First, we must not abandon the true gospel. Ephesians 2:8-9 says, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith, and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, so that no one can boast.” Salvation is not obtained through works. We are saved by the grace of God.
Second, the law must not precede the gospel. Actions must not precede the gospel. The gospel of freedom from sin must come first, and works must be done on the true gospel. I pray that we all become convinced of salvation through Amen, follow the word of the Lord, and preach only Jesus.
