Title: Nobody Knows My Heart
no one will know my heart
Matthew 13:44
One day a peasant farmer found a chest of treasure while plowing his field. It was a huge chest that contained an enormous amount of treasure. The peasant quickly covered the chest with a beating heart. And I rushed home. When this fact was reported to the owner, the law at the time required that the owner and the owner share the same. It was not the only concern. Because he couldn't share half of the treasure with his master. When the peasant thought of the treasure chest, his heart raced. However, I couldn't even tell my family about it. After all, if the secret is leaked, everything goes in vain.
Finally, the peasant ran to the owner of the field and offered to buy the field. The owner raised the price of the field several times higher, but the tenant sold all his possessions, all his possessions, and even everything he owned, and bought the field. Neighbors, as well as friends and relatives, pointed out that he was crazy. “What in the world is such an idiot? Buying such an insignificant land at such a high price. And that's because he sold all his possessions. How could he do that without a crazy person?” Even his family members who didn't know English yet rolled their feet saying they were crazy.
But in front of those who ridicule him as crazy, the tenant mumbles in his heart: “You don't know my heart. No one will know my heart. Oh! This joy, emotion, happiness. Only the Lord knows. God, many people would have plowed this field every year, so why didn't they find this treasure? How did it happen that I was the only one to discover this treasure? Lord, no one will know my heart.”
The text tells us that this very emotional confession and happiness must belong to us Christians. A Christian should be the happiest person in the world. Because the Christian is completely and forever free from what has hitherto made mankind eternally unhappy.
There are two enemies that have made mankind unhappy. One is sin and the other is death. Because these two problems could not be solved, mankind was bound to be unhappy. Sin and death have not solved any philosophy or religion in this world. Therefore, no matter how much money and power humans have, they were slaves to sin and had to die forever as the price for their sins.
But Christians are those who have completely solved these two problems. This is because Jesus, as the Lord of the covenant, took away all our sins on the cross and solved the problem of our death by resurrecting from the dead. In particular, Jesus Christ broke the authority of death and was resurrected as the firstfruits of all covenant people (1 Corinthians 15:20). Just as the firstfruits guarantee the latter fruits in nature, the resurrection of Jesus Christ is the event that guarantees the resurrection of all Christians. The Christian resurrection is God's faithful covenant. As a token that guarantees our resurrection on the last day, God has given us the Holy Spirit as a security deposit (2 Corinthians 1:22, 5:5).
The gospel has solved the problem of sin and death, the enemies of all mankind. The authority of sin and death was completely destroyed. Therefore, those who have accepted the Gospel will receive the solution of billions of sins in an instant, and the eternal curse of death, the problem of death. The gospel is the ‘treasure chest’ that the peasant found in the field. Therefore, the person who finds the hidden treasure in the field, or the person who makes this treasure mine, is the happiest person in the world. If the problems of sin and death that no one could solve on their own in this world could be solved forever, what could be greater happiness than this?
If you have overcome death, our greatest enemy, and rather, open your eyes to the power of death and give a command (1 Corinthians 15:55), and become a new creature who is resurrected in glory on the last day, then you are the happiest person in the world. Even today, who have the treasure of this gospel, we should be able to confess, “No one will know my heart. I, who will overcome sin and death and be resurrected, am the happiest person among the 6.3 billion people
A Christian must be able to make a confession of wonder like this. Only then can the spiritual realm of the saints be restored and the Korean church can come to life. When the peasant digs a chest of treasure from the field and puts it on a cart, he says, “Yeah, he was really right. We didn't know and called him crazy,” as the whole town cheered him on.
