Title: God's Count 26.hwp
Census (Numbers 26:1-11)
Twenty-four thousand people died because of Israel's transgression. But later the census order was issued. It means the love of God, that is, the grace that prepared us for the Canaan war. And most importantly, it was the preparatory work for the enterprise and land distribution.
1. It is for the glory of God (4).
Moses obeyed immediately. This counting was not only for the defense of war, but also for the construction of the tabernacle, and it was an act for the glory of the people of Israel.
This is because the tabernacle above Jehovah has a very deep relationship with monotheism. This tabernacle movement was later carried on to David, and it was only in the reign of King Solomon that it was completed.
2. He saw the sincerity of the life of faith (3-4). He said obedience is better than sacrifice. The Lord has already sacrificed twenty-four thousand. it's a huge nerf However, among the wrath, the Inu investigation was the re-appointment of the army, a dream for the conquest of Canaan. But Jehovah gave the command, and Moses and Eleazar showed immediate obedience. God was satisfied. He saw the truth in the midst of wrath.
3. It was to show that God Himself was the King of Israel (1-11). Until David appeared, the kingship of Israel had not yet been carried out. So Israel was doing Moses for all his rights, and Moses was doing what the Lord had commanded him to do. It was to show that the Lord was the true Lord of Israel. The census didn't just count people's heads. It made clear the existence of the living God.
God's number (Numbers 26:23-34)
The way God works is so profound and mysterious that it is often beyond our understanding. Although mankind has developed science and civilization and accomplished many things that previous generations could not even imagine, they still remain ignorant before God. Therefore, you should not have an arrogant mind. The text is referring to God's counting.
1. He takes no appearance;
When God takes a person, he does not look at the outward appearance, but at the heart. Therefore, ritualism or formalism cannot be tolerated by Him. Paul testified well of this fact in relation to the Lord's calling of the saints (1 Corinthians 1:26-). Therefore, we believers who are called should strive to be humble, knowing that there is nothing in them to boast or to show off. Those who boast about themselves are ignorant people who know nothing.
2. Make sure not to miss one.
The Lord remembers all our saints and does not overlook any of them. Even if we forget the Lord, the Lord remembers us.
3. He delights in the salvation of all,
The punishment of sin is inevitable, but what the Lord wants is salvation, not punishment. Our church and members must put their energy into preaching the gospel.
