Title: O wretched man (Romans 7:21-25)
Contents
7:21 Therefore I have found a law, that evil is present with me, who desire to do good.
7:22 In my inner being, I delight in the law of God,
7:23 I see another law in my members wrestling with the law of my heart, and holding me captive to the law of sin that is in my members.
7:24 O wretched man I am, who will deliver me from this body of death?
7:25 I will give thanks to God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore with my mind I myself serve the law of God, and with the flesh the law of sin.
No one, no matter how great a person, is without worries. No one is carefree. Everyone, without exception, lives with concerns and worries. The Apostle Paul himself struggles between desired good and unwanted sin. He had to do the good he wanted and defeat the evil he didn't want, but he saw himself as antagonist and full of contradictions. So today's text verse 24 defines himself as "O wretched man I am".
The Greek word for "worried" in the text is 'Taraphoros'. Originally, it meant 'the state of enduring hard work and hardship'. To be wretched means 'to be miserable. It means 'worried'.
Thinking and lamenting like this is a worry and lament to live as a better person. Ok. No matter what we worry about or lament, we must have a clear goal of living a better life of faith and a better life.
Where else could the Apostle Paul have such troubles and groanings?
I think that it is the suffering and lamentation that many people of faith have experienced in the Bible, and also all of us who are gathered here.
I know I need to pray, but I can't do it, but I can't do that when I should be thankful, but I don't know that I have to be zealous to serve the Lord, but when I find myself not doing that, I lament.
Ladies and gentlemen, knowledge itself has the potential to make a person a good person, but you must remember that knowledge never makes a person a good person. Let's take one example. Knowing how to play golf well is not the same as knowing how to play golf well. Many of the famous football managers were among those who did not stand out in their playing days.
Human determination and determination, human judgment and discernment, these things are not necessarily directly related to what we do. In the end, because of these things, people discover contradictions, become conflicted, blame themselves, and suffer.
That is why the current local churches on earth are called militant churches. Likewise, all of you who are serving local churches on the earth are now militant saints. Therefore, if you see the present church or saints on the earth as perfect churches or perfect saints, you will not be able to help but curse and pour out your disappointment. If you see the current church or members as the Victory Church or the Victory Saints, there are many things to criticize and many things to discourage yourself. However, we must not always forget that the Lord is the perfect Lord who has triumphed through the cross and resurrection, but the church and the saints are still fighting until they are victorious. They are not people who have achieved salvation, but they are in the process of working out their salvation.
There is always something to remember and not forget whenever something upsetting happens in the church and in our relationships with the members.
We need to understand that the church we are serving now is an imperfect church, and the members we live as a Korean family are imperfect members. But we are now imperfect churches and imperfect saints, but we should never be disappointed. I believe you will have to keep growing, growing, and running to perfection. You have to work hard to do that.
All the saints are "poor people" as the Apostle Paul confessed in today's text.
Between the law of God and the law of sin, people who do not practice the law of God they want, but rather do the law of sin they hate. This is human existence. It is our shape and our present dwelling place.
If we take off our bodies, die, and leave this world, and stay in the kingdom of God, there will be no need to "feel wretched" at all.
Colossians 2:15, "Having stripped away principalities and powers, he made them public and triumphed in the cross."
The Apostle Paul said in today's text, "I will give thanks to God through our Lord Jesus Christ" in verse 25, although it is a difficult life.
Thank you for a hard life, a hymn for a hard life. After denying myself, only the grace of God remains. Although we still have no choice but to remain in trouble with our own strength and ability, we were able to change the phase of smiling and laughing because we believe that we will reach a level where we can thank God through the victorious Lord and perfect Lord. . You don't have to work hard, but seeing what you put in effort and believing that the Lord has given you grace to make it happen, we give thanks through Jesus Christ.
Even when we cry, we can laugh because we trust in Jesus Christ.
We believe that if he is with us, we will get out of our troubled life.
The answer to a difficult life is in the Lord. It is the Lord who will deliver you from the body of death.
Therefore, even when we are afflicted and discouraged, we can be thankful and rejoice. Because the salvation of God through our Lord Jesus Christ becomes more evident.
That's right. The great comfort that the Apostle Paul could receive was in Jesus Christ (verse 25). ?쏧 will give thanks to God through our Lord Jesus Christ.??After a long mourning, he suddenly begins to sing praises. Praise is a special remedy for overcoming fear and sorrow.
