Sermons for Preaching

Title: Obedience and Faith/ 20:1-6

Contents Bible Reading: 20:1-6

Subject: Obedience and Faith

The method of sending the message to the director in the text is very unique. Soon, he made it appear that he acted directly in the body of a prophet. In other words, it becomes a naked body and bare feet, and delivers an action message. Through the appearance of these prophets, we learn the form of obedience.

1. What is obedience?

1) Listening. - Obedience begins with listening. Because listening is a sign of having the attitude to obey. So, many times God told his people at the time to 'follow and keep' instead of the frequent admonition, 'Listen to me'. You did. Listening is the beginning of obedience.

2) Keep it. - Just as faith without works is like death, so obedience without keeping is unthinkable. Listening to the Way and not keeping it is deception and receiving others.

3) to follow. - A higher dimension of obedience is follow.

According to the Bible, this special privilege was not given to everyone. Of Elijah's many disciples, Elisha was given privileges to only 12 of Jesus' many disciples. It is a privilege of God that we become Christians today. Therefore, we must obey the Word of God.

2. Those who obeyed God

1) Noah - He obeyed the Lord without regard to the ridicule of others. As a result, he became a person of blessing who planted race on the ground after judgment.

2) Bethuel and Laban - Bethuel is Rebekah's father and the son of Nahor, Abraham's brother.

And Laban was the son of Bethuel. As a result of her religious heart to obey the will of God, Rebekah became the pride of Abraham, the father of faith.

3) Cornelius - He lived a life of obedience to the Word, regardless of his status or position.

3. vain hope (4-6)

1) Hope for Power - Human nature is power-oriented.

2) Hope for wealth - It steals people's hearts.

3) Hope for Man - It is a fallen and corrupt existence.

4) Hope for life - Life is like a nightmare, fog, a stranger, and a shadow of the setting sun.

4. True Hope

1) Hope for Salvation - Hope for salvation comes from the cross.

2) Hope for eternal life - It consists in receiving in faith.

3) Hope of Resurrection - Resurrection becomes the hope of all hope.
