▣ Open the door of your heart
God values the family. What kind of family is God pleased with? God is pleased with a family where children show obedience and respect for their parents. Those who do not honor their visible parents will not be able to serve God in the end. How are you serving your parents in light of today's Word?

▣ Apply the Word
1. What is a child's responsibility to parents according to God? You have a responsibility to obey your parents. He told us to obey the Lord, not blind obedience.
2. Another responsibility a child has to his or her parents is respect. Children have a responsibility to honor their parents. It is not enough to obey your parents, but to love and respect them. It is said that it is because it is the first commandment with a promise as to the reason to honor it.

God speaks to us as children. Let's not delay any longer in obeying the words "Obey your parents in the Lord" and "Honor your father and mother". Let us honor with our hearts and obey with our actions. So, I hope that you will enjoy the blessings that God has promised you to go well and to live a long life on earth.
