Bible Text: John 3:16-17 Title: Object of Faith (Jesus, Son of God)

We believe in Jesus, the Son of God.

1. Who is Jesus Christ?

1) He is the Son of God.

In Matthew 3:17, “There was a voice from heaven saying, ‘This is my Beloved Son,

He is the one in whom I am well pleased.”

2) Jesus, together with God the Father, created all things.

John 1:2-3 says, “He was with God in the beginning, and through him all things were created

It has been made, and nothing that has been made has not been made without him.”

3) Jesus is our Savior who came to save us from our sins.

Matthew 1:21 says, “You shall give birth to a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he

He is the one who will save them from their sins.” And in Luke 2:11,

“Today in the city of David a Savior has been born to you, who is Christ the Lord.”

What did Jesus do to save us and what is His promise?

Isaiah 53:5-6 says, “He was pierced for our transgressions, and he was bruised for our iniquities.

Because of his chastisement, we have peace; with his wounds we have peace.

We are healed; we all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way.

The Lord hath laid upon him the iniquity of our multitude.”

2 Corinthians 5:14 says, “The love of Christ compels us; we consider

If one died for all, then all died.”

So, in John 3:16-17, we are saved from God's judgment without being punished by God.

It is to enjoy the promised blessings as a child of God.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that everyone who believes in him

that they should not perish but have eternal life.

God did not send his Son into the world to judge the world

that the world might be saved through him.”

4) Jesus died for us, rose again, and is alive.

Revelation 1:17-18, “When I saw him, he fell at his feet and became as dead.

He laid his right hand on me and said, Fear not, for I am the first and the last.

I am alive; I was dead before, behold, I am alive for ever and ever;

I have the key.”

5) Jesus is our helper.

Hebrews 2:18 says, “For when he himself suffered being tempted,

He is able to help those who are being tempted.”

6) Jesus saved us and led us into his kingdom, the kingdom of God.

You are the one who will come again.

Revelation 22:20 says, “He who testifies of these things says, ‘Surely, I come quickly.

Amen, come, Lord Jesus.” Let's become the saints who welcome them with joy.
