"Christ the Blood Sacrifice"
Introduction
Since man sinned against God and departed from God, God's mercy has created a system of sacrificial offerings so that sinners may come to God. So, from a cultural history point of view, it is found that all peoples offer a common sacrifice of the blood of animals. Of course, the types of animals used for sacrifices vary from region to region, but they are consistent in that they are sacrifices that shed animal blood.
In view of this, Christian cultural anthropologists believe that the ritual of sacrificial sacrifice clearly came from a single source. That is, it appears to have descended through Adam and Noah. The first thing Noah did when he got out of the ark was to make a sacrifice. This probably existed as a natural religion before divine revelation was given as a written law. Due to the fall of man, the method of offering sacrifices turned to idolatry, but the descendants of the godly seth lineage continued to offer sacrifices to God.
Now, as the dawn of the salvation of mankind draws near, God prepares Moses, a close model of our Lord Jesus Christ, and demands a “blood sacrifice” through Moses and reveals the sacrificial law.
1. When and to whom was the revelation of God’s “blood sacrifice” most clearly revealed? What can be inferred? (See Exod. 3:18. Note that Moses was more worthy of the mediator position than Adam, Noah, and Abraham.)
2. What was the purpose of the Israelites' exodus from Egypt? (Exodus 3:18)
3. The goal of the entire history of the nation of Israel and the goal of the movement of the nation of Israel was to offer a blood sacrifice ( ). It was ( ) built by Solomon in Jerusalem. Only there, peace and rest can be obtained, and the state of happiness where you can dwell in the glory of God has been achieved.
4. However, this visible temple was not true and eternal, nor was its peace and rest in a state of true and eternal happiness. In other words, the ultimate place where God and Christ sit on the throne to rule over spiritual Israel and give grace to the people is not in Jerusalem ( ) (Rev 21:2). It is God's eternal dwelling place and hometown where the blood sacrifice is completed and the effect is fully enjoyed.
5. Even though we have received the gospel of Christ's blood sacrifice in this world, we are moving like the people of Israel toward our eternal home as sojourners. Share your beliefs about whether you care about your eternal home in heaven (see Hebrews 11:16).
