Everyone has their own criteria for success. For some, it may be about entering a successful company and living without a lack of high salaries, and for others, it may be about studying hard and getting a degree. But most of that success has to do with money or material things. When I asked my friends around me, they said that being successful is ‘making a lot of money’. As if they were all woven. In fact, it was very difficult for me to let go of that thought until not too long ago.
As I believed in Jesus, I experienced the grace of providing the things I needed, but still, there is no end to human greed. When I have this, I want that too, and having that, I want something else. Really, maybe God made us like this without God. It's surprising.
However, what sets us apart from the people of the world is that we, as God's people, have a clear purpose. The competitive structure of today, where you have to beat others unconditionally, makes people exhausted and futile. I thought it was the top and climbed up with my flag, and found that it was just one of many mountain peaks. To be honest, I had very little competition like that, so I have no way of knowing how bad it felt, but just a rough guess. Such people would have struggled so much that they just had to be, without a clear reason or purpose for being successful.
I learned how to live through God. I have loved to read books since I was little, but God clearly and accurately tells me what no other book has taught me. Surprisingly, I did not know how shocked (?) it was when I found out that 'what was written about me' was in the middle of these words. These days, like an adolescent girl, I am thinking about my future, and at the same time, I feel my identity become clear and renewed in God. I hope that the faith that God will use me preciously grows every day, no matter what the vocation entrusted to me. We should pray more and listen to the Word. But I am no longer anxious or discouraged like a person who does not believe in God. Doesn't this alone show signs of victory for me? ^^
God certainly lives. I want to be a witness of God in some way. Living according to God's will is not true success for us. I sincerely pray that all of us will receive the word deeply pierced in the Holy Spirit and live a life of witnessing the Lord every day. Amen!
