1. The church is the body of the Lord.
Apostle Paul compares it to 'body' in today's text. The words of today's text, which compares the church to a body, are the most important concept and the most fundamental thought in understanding the church. If the church is the body of Christ, we believers are members of that body. Just as there is no body without members and no members without a body, we believers and the church are in an inseparable relationship.
2. We are members of that body.
1) Do not underestimate your own gifts.
If we don't use it, our body will degenerate and become useless. We, too, will not be able to use our gifts unless we use them in a trivial way. Now, let's find what we can do and serve the body of the Lord. He has given each of us more than one gift. This shines when used for the body of the Lord, the church. What I Can Do With Joy It is my gift. I am a member of the body of Christ. Everyone fulfills the mission entrusted to them as members of Christ. I do not consider myself to be of service or dedication. It is a very happy and joyful thing to work as the hands of Christ, the feet, the mouth, and the ears.
2) Don't underestimate the gifts of others (verse 21).
In the church, we should not ignore others or boast about our own work. It means that no one in the body is useless.
3. The church needs a sense of membership (verses 25-27).
A body is a diseased body if the members quarrel within the body and the members do not look after each other. Let's become members who look out for each other. We need to learn to value the weaker parts more.
There are many things God wants to do through our church in 2006. Who should do that? God always wants us to do these things through us as members. Do you not want to become the arms of Jesus as members of Christ?
