Title: One Faith, Two Jobs!
Contents
The Bible testifies, “There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism” (Ephesians 4:5). However, the Bible also testifies, “In the gospel, the righteousness of God is revealed, from faith to faith, as it is written, The righteous will live by faith” (Romans 1:17).
Therefore, the faith that saves the soul refers to the faith that leads to the faith of being raised with Christ through the faith that died with Jesus. So we can see that there is one faith, but two offices. That is why the Bible testifies that “from faith to faith”.
If the body of sin is the only job of faith and death with Jesus, it cannot be called the gospel. The gospel is the gospel because it has the new life of righteousness through faith. That is, it is the same as the testimony of the saying, “There are different offices, but the same Lord” (1 Corinthians 12:5).
That is why the Bible testifies about the gospel, saying, “This is faithful, if we have died with the Lord, we also live together” (2 Timothy 2:11). The Bible testifies about this in various parts and in many ways.
It is written, “For in his death he died to sin once for all, but his life he lived to God. In the same way, consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus” (Romans 6:10). -11) It is the same as the words of evidence.
If there is only death to sin and no life to God, then faith is vain, and the gospel is not the gospel, and in the end it is nothing.
Therefore, the Bible says, “If there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not been raised. If Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain, and your faith is also in vain, and we will be found as false witnesses of God. For if the dead had not risen, then God would not have raised up Christ. If the dead had not been raised, then Christ would not have been raised. If Christ had not been raised, your faith would be in vain. You will still be in your sins, and those who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. For if our hope in Christ is only in this life, then we are of the most pitiful place among all; but now Christ has risen from the dead, and the firstfruits of them are He has become” (1 Corinthians 15:13-20).
Therefore, in the gospel, the righteousness of God is revealed, leading from the faith of dying with Jesus to the faith of living with Christ again.
The Lord brought his people out of Egypt to dwell among them. It is the same as the words of the testimony, which is written, “They shall know that I am the LORD their God, who brought them out of the land of Egypt to dwell among them; I am the LORD their God” (Exodus 29:46).
However, while Moses was away from them for a short time, it is written, "Aaron took the ring from their hand, and carved it into an angle to make a calf, and they said, "Israel, this is who brought you out of the land of Egypt “You are your god.” When Aaron saw it, he built an altar before him and proclaimed it, saying, “Tomorrow is a feast to the Lord.” The next day they got up early and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings, and they sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play. According to the written evidence, he abandoned the life of dwelling with God and sat down to eat, drink, and play with the satisfaction of being free from Egypt.
Regarding this, the Bible says, “You originally knew all things, but I want to remind you that the Lord saved the people from Egypt, and later destroyed the unbelievers, and the angels who did not keep their position and left their dwelling place were greatly appreciated. He has imprisoned him in darkness with everlasting bondage until the judgment of the day, and Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighboring cities, like them, committing adultery and following different colors, became a mirror, being punished by eternal fire. He also defiles the flesh, despises authority, and slanders glory” (Jude 1:5-8).
Even today, there are many people who blatantly blaspheme God's glory by following the idol of their covetousness, saying that they sat down, ate, got up, and jumped and were saved only by faith in the forgiveness of sins. You should know that this is a warning against the vain multitudes who have been saved from their sins and who later give up their faith and do not live according to the Holy Spirit.
Therefore, the end of faith, the salvation of the soul, does not consist in freedom from sin, but in the new life of living with Christ and God the Father. It is not in death, but in life. Amen, thank you Lord.
