Old Testament
10. Behold, the Sovereign LORD is coming, a mighty one, and he will rule with his arm. Behold, his reward is with him, and his retribution is before him.
11. He will feed the flock like a shepherd; he will gather the lambs in his arms and take them into his bosom, and gently guide the suckling females.
new testament
1. After that, Jesus also revealed himself to his disciples at the lake of Tiberias,
2. Simon Peter and Thomas called Didymus, Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two other disciples were with them.
3. Simon Peter said, “I am going fishing.” They said that we would go together. They went out and got into the boat, but they caught nothing that night.
4. At dawn, Jesus was standing by the seashore, but the disciples did not know that it was Jesus.
5. Jesus said to them, "Children, do you have meat?
6. He said to them, "Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will catch it." Then they threw it, but there were many fish, and the net could not be lifted.
7. The disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, "It is the Lord." Simon Peter was naked, and when he heard the word "Lord," he put on his cloak and jumped into the sea.
8. The other disciples got into a small boat and brought their nets with fish, because they were only fifty steps away from the land.
9. When I got to the land, there was a charcoal fire, and fish were placed on it, and there was also bread.
10. Jesus said to him, “Bring me some of the fish you have caught.”
11. And Simon Peter went up and drew the net on land, and it was full of great fish, one hundred and fifty-three. Even though there were so many, the net was not torn.
12. Jesus said to him, “Come and have breakfast.” The disciples knew that he was the Lord, so no one dared to ask who you are.
13. Jesus went and took bread and gave it to them, and did the same with the fish.
14. This is the third time Jesus appeared to the disciples after he rose from the dead.
sermon
We become disciples of Jesus because the Lord has called us to do the mission He has entrusted to us as witnesses. But can we really evangelize? We have no knowledge, no courage, no training. However, the incident of the seven disciples seeing the Lord reveals to us who the Lord of the Resurrection is.
1. Greater Lord than the disciples ( ): Because the resurrected Jesus promised to meet the disciples in Galilee, the disciples went to Galilee. However, because they had not yet received the Holy Spirit, they did not have confidence and did not have the strength to preach the gospel. Their best job was to catch fish, which they were good at, but even that failed.
2. The Lord who gives life ( ): Jesus stood on the beach and asked his disciples. “Children, do you have meat?” The disciples said, “No.
I am,” he replied. It is like seeing the hearts and lives of the disciples who are full of discouragement and disappointment. But the Lord breathed hope and courage into their hearts of discouragement and despair.
3. The Lord who supplies and provides ( ): When we obeyed Jesus’ command to put down the net on the right side to catch fish, the disciples were very
Many fish were caught and the nets could not be lifted. The Lord made a bonfire for Peter and his disciples who were trembling even with water in their hearts, gave them fish and bread, and comforted them with love.
The number 153 by itself has no special meaning. Just as usual, the fish are counted for sharing by those who worked hard together. However, John recorded this number as a miracle work.
153 means that we have a greater Lord than our best. Show that the Lord gives meaning to our lives and gives us comfort
