Through this accident, I made two slogans ahead of the church planting. It’s ‘First, let’s make it easy. Second, let’s have fun.” I hope this will be a slogan in all of our lives. Let's win easily and easily. And let's live happily for the rest of our lives. If we live only with Jesus Christ, won't everything prosper? To know the future, you must know today. And to know the present, you must know the past. The history of the past determines who we are today. At the same time, it teaches you how to live in the future.
There is a saying that Rome was not built in a day. And there is a saying that if you go to Rome you have to follow the Roman laws. Rome was indeed a great and great nation. And the Romans killed Jesus. But Rome knelt before the gospel of Jesus and was conquered by it. Rome was founded in 753 BC by Romulus. In the second half of the 3rd century, Emperor Aurelian built a strong wall in Rome, but Visigoth king Alaricus occupied and sacked Rome in 410 and Geicericus, king of the Vandals, in 455. Thus, Rome was turned into a small town with a population of tens of thousands in the 6th century. The Roman Empire has been around for a very long time. While I was teaching through the Bible Study Class, I became very interested in Rome. Why did the Roman Empire go down the road? Experts believe that the fall of Rome has already begun during the 200-year period of peace. In those days, becoming an emperor or an outstanding hero was possible only through war. However, after 200 years of peace, they began to build walls and fortresses. Rome's valiant soldiers now became wall-builders and ordinary laborers. Attackers have turned into defenders.
(1) A church that becomes a channel of blessing
This is possible because of Jesus Christ. He is the God who came to this earth for us. He loved us even from healing the sick and dying on a cross. He truly died for us and made us channels of blessing. So we should live like that. God has changed us through Southern California Sarang Church. I sincerely hope that Eastern Sarang Church will become a channel of blessing and grace just like Southern California Sarang Church.
It was during the last short-term mission to China. When the short-term mission was finished, we visited Mt. Baekdu. On the way to the bus, I could feel that God was touching me. We continued to sing and God was with us. I heard that Mt. Baekdu gets sunny only a few days a year. But when we reached the top of the mountain, to our amazement, all the clouds passed through, and we could see the mountain and the whole world beneath our feet. I reached the highest point among them and knelt down. And I thought of Elijah, who prayed on Mount Carmel. I couldn't close my eyes. I opened my eyes and looked to God. And I meditated on the words of Elijah. ‘How long will you hesitate between the two of you?’ And he answered before these words. “I will put down all the ways of life so far and live only because of Jesus.”
Today's words hit me hard. Look at verse 38. “God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, because God was with him.” have to put it down Then, there, God gives us two wings. It means the Holy Spirit and all power. Now, ahead of pioneering, we will fully prepare ourselves with the Holy Spirit and the power that Jesus gives us.
(2) A church where dreams come true and dreams come true
Our only dream is to become like Jesus Christ. We live in an age of spirituality. We pray a lot, listen a lot, and get good training. But these are not the essence of spirituality. The essence of spirituality is ultimately to become like Jesus Christ. Trying to be more today than yesterday.
The immigrant church has a lot to do with the commercial district. When the LA commercial district was formed, good churches such as Dongyang Mission Church and Youngnak Church were created there. And when commercial districts were formed in Garden Grove and Fullerton, Southern California Sarang Church and Grace Korean Church were established. Where's next? That's the eastern part. During prayer, the Lord gave us a vision for the East. In the east, a good commercial area has already been formed in the Colima area. And there are already over 10,000 large American churches located in areas such as Diamondbar, Chino, Rancho Cucamonga, and Riverside. There are also many Korean churches. However, there are very few churches that are well trained in discipleship. This is a land of vision. There are about 50,000 to 70,000 Koreans living here. Even if we take the number of believers at 30%, it means that at least 350,000 or more people do not believe. According to the promise the Lord had given, the place was decided as a frontier.
It will start anew like the early Southern California Church of Love. Now the saints begin to appear anew. It's funny, but whenever I meet the saints, I ask, 'Lord, is this this person?' Because they expect someone to work with. But God doesn't care who goes and who doesn't. God only cares about our hearts. The Lord went about doing good deeds. Southern California Sarang Church began with the spirit of a pioneer. Dongbu Sarang Church will also start with the pioneering spirit of going and sending pioneers. I am confident that He will anoint us with the Holy Spirit and power and will guide us. I believe that if you have the spirit that the Lord has, you can do all things.
