Title: Only When the Lord Blesses
You just have to give
(Psalm 127:1-5)
If you ask us to evaluate this age, it can be said that it is an age in which knowledge is increasing but wisdom is decreasing. Humans are being helped a lot by computers, but it will also cause a lot of damage. How should we really live in these times? What kind of life is the wise life?
Psalm 127 presents two aspects of life in extreme contrast. One is a life that leads to frustration and the other is a life that leads to fulfillment.
First of all, Solomon speaks of a life that leads to setbacks in verses 1 and 2. Here, what are the characteristics of a vain life, and it seems that we have achieved a lot in our lives, but the result shows some characteristics of why it ends in failure and frustration. They seem to have accomplished a great deal, but in the end, one day they will end up in frustration before God. The characteristic of such a life is that God does not exist in the great work they do. In other words, I believe that the key to success or failure lies in my hard work and talent. God by mouth! But they are people who do not acknowledge the existence of God in everything in my life and think that I must believe in my abilities and myself and work hard.
That is why Solomon confesses: “Unless the standing house is built, those who build it labor in vain; unless the west guards the city, the watchman's watch is in vain.”
Solomon realized this fact and tried all the hard work, but all the hard work and investment in the absence of God was a failure in the business. and is confessing.
If so, what are the characteristics of a life that leads to fulfillment? It is said in the second half of verse 2 that God gives sleep to the one he loves. That is, a change of attitude. I am not responsible for my life, but I am acknowledging that God created, established, and kept my life. And I believe that God is nothing more than a helper standing by as a co-worker in what He is doing. Those who acknowledge this have rest.
What are we to do on this earth? How do we end our life successfully with a beautiful fulfillment ! can you? I believe that it is not a life that focuses on what I do for myself, but a life that restores the relationship of love with God. In other words, those who believe that the greatest blessings in life do not come from my efforts, but only from God. An example of this truth is given in verses 3 to 5. What God is saying here is that the secret to the greatest achievement in life, the right way to success, is not to focus on material things, but to focus on people.
Moses established Joshua, Jesus established 12 disciples, and Paul established Timothy. The real achievement in our lives is people. Please take a moment to think about it today. What do you want most from your child? Does the child own the property? How much did you struggle to raise him as a person of faith? Have you sacrificed your material and time to build a firebox that God has hidden in your traditions, even if you would rather give up your fortune or time to earn more money? Then you are on the road to achievement! .
I hope that our Sungmin Church will become a place of faith where Sungmin's family is nurtured. And I bless you in the name of the Lord to become the people of the Lord who pray for it and walk together.
