Title: Ordinary People, Extraordinary Things

※ Main text: Judges 6:11-24
First, God's call cannot be rejected.
Second, he obeyed God's commands thoroughly.
God told Gideon to tear down the altar of Baal that was in the house, cut down the Asherah table beside the altar, and offer burnt offerings with bulls of seven years old on it. In fact, it would be offensive to our Baal-worshipping neighbors, and could put our lives at risk. However, Gideon thoroughly obeyed God's command. As God had commanded, he broke down idols and offered bulls as a burnt offering to the glory of God. After that, people started a riot to kill Gideon, who broke the high places of Baal and Asherah. At this time, Joash, Gideon's father, steps forward to help his son. “Who will take the place of Baal and Asherah? If Baal and Asherah are ‘gods’, will the man who destroyed Baal and Asherah and took the picture be prosperous?” It is the father who is really angry, but the father comes to help the son. Thus Gideon became “Jerubbaal.” It earned him the nickname “The Breaker of Baal.” Dear brothers and sisters, when we completely obey God, God gives us helpers.
Third, when we obeyed God, God's power was revealed.
There is absolutely no way to escape or escape from God's call. There is only obedience to God's call. An obedient person can do extraordinary things.
