Title: Our Attitude to the Impossible

Contents

▒▒ Bible _ Exodus 14:13~20

It would be great if we could live our lives comfortably while only doing what we are capable of doing. However, as we go through life, we are experiencing many difficult things that are beyond our ability. But the strange thing is that when we do not meet Almighty God through what we can do at our own will, but rather, when we encounter difficult things that are beyond our power, we come to meet God, depend on Him, and we can see that our faith grows. .

According to the Bible, God is a God who blesses us and gives us all things abundantly. But at the same time, we can know that God is a God who sometimes makes impossible things happen for us. God wants us to do well, but sometimes He puts us in front of impossible things. At this time, the impossible things we encounter are not actually God trying to judge us, but rather meeting and experiencing a God who works miracles and loves and blesses us. that's what you want to do.

The words of Exodus 14 that we read today are impossible things that the Israelites encountered. The Egyptian army was chasing us, and we were in a dilemma with the Red Sea blocked in front of us. However, through the people of Israel who were placed in such an impossible situation, Moses is talking about five very important human attitudes.

First, “Do not be afraid.” When an impossible situation comes before us, the first reaction is fear. When an impossible situation that we cannot do on our own comes before us, the first thing we have is a fearful heart. The way we overcome our fears when the impossible happens in our lives, we have to recognize that God is intentionally giving us the impossible to give us His miracles and blessings. We must cast off our fearful heart and change our fearful heart to a heart of faith that God works.

The second is “Stand still.” God's word to stand still is not something that can be easily put into practice in our Christian life. When we practice our faith for a long time, what we realize is, ‘Oh, this is it!’ It is the truth of God that tells us to stand still.

Usually, when people are in a difficult situation, they get frustrated. It is a saying to not rush when the impossible is in front of you. It is telling me to come out before you and pour out all my heart. It is a message to stand where you should stand and see the work of God through prayer to God. I beg you, in the name of the Lord, to go out to God and pour out your hearts first, as you will face many difficult things in your life.

The third is, “See what God saves.” The word “see salvation” here has two meanings. The first is that we should look back on the saving grace and history of salvation that God has bestowed upon us throughout our lives. It is said to look forward to history. I hope you all look forward to God's work of salvation. Clearly, God is omnipotent who makes our future much better.

Fourth, “Be still, for the Lord will fight for you.” God cares for us, cares for us, and blesses us, but sometimes people worry about God. God promised that Abraham would have children at the age of 75. After 10 years had passed and there were no children, Abraham was worried about God and said, 'We must not make our God a liar, how can we do this?' He made Ishmael through Hagar. While God was working, a man was caught in the middle, saying that he would help God, but he did it wrong.

Dear saints, we do not need to worry about God. Even if we do not worry, God is Almighty God, so He is a God who does everything according to His will. The important thing is that you should never cover up the glory of God by saying you are doing God's work. I hope you have the faith to fully believe in Almighty God and watch the works of God.

Last but not least, even if the impossible is ahead of us, ‘don’t give up.’ Even if the Red Sea is blocked in front of you and the Egyptian army is chasing you from behind, do not give up and move forward. This is the message to us today. Whenever you encounter an impossible situation, please remember the five things Moses said in Exodus 14:13-15 today.

Looking at this work of God, it teaches us two important facts. First, it is the fact that God is Almighty God. He is the God who can light an unquenchable fire among the bushes, the God of salvation who divides the Red Sea and rescues the Israelites. The second important truth we must remember is that God is a God who works according to His will.

One of the things we do wrong when we believe in Jesus is that we believe that we can control God as we please. God blesses here and curses there, and this thinking is human pride. God is the one who does what God wants. Please do not forget this important truth and live according to the will of God.
