our Christian life
(2 Corinthians 4:7-10)
In today's text, the Apostle Paul compared humans to being like earthen vessels. The characteristic of earthenware is that it is weak and brittle. Humans are said to be the lords of all things, but they are truly fragile creatures. Also, earthenware is unsightly and cheap. No matter how much a person dresses up and looks stylish, as they age, their appearance gradually changes. We are as fragile as earthen vessels, but if we have the precious Jesus Christ in our hearts, we will live a life of honor and victory. In today's text, the Apostle Paul is talking specifically about how to win in verses 8-9.
1. Even if you are wrung out on all sides, you will not be crushed, verse 8.
As we go through life, we are faced with an environment that is completely unmoving. Still, we are not cheap. Because our precious Lord is with us/Psalm 23:4. No matter how much we are faced with strife, if our precious Lord is with us, we will be able to defeat the encirclement of the devil.
2. We do not become discouraged even when things are frustrating, verse 8.
As we go through life, we encounter undesirable, cramped and frustrating things. But we must not be discouraged. Because the precious Lord is with you and helps you. We do not have the power, but the Lord is our helper with the power of God, so we must cast all our worries over us. You never have to be discouraged. We should not be discouraged or despair because the Lord, who is the light in the dark, is in us like earthen vessels.
3. Even if we are persecuted, we are not forsaken/v. 9.
According to the Bible, when we believe in the Lord, there will be persecution, tribulation, and persecution. Mark 13:13 says, “You will be hated by all because of my name.” Acts 14:22 says, “You must go through many tribulations to enter the kingdom of heaven.” 2 Timothy 3:12 says, “If you wish to live a godly life, There is persecution.” But don't worry. Because we are not alone, the Lord is with us. In Dan 6, Daniel was persecuted to go into the lions' den, but God was with him and a miracle occurred.
4. Even if we are overthrown, we do not perish / Verse 9.
If you look at the original text that it is not destroyed even if it is knocked down, it is recorded with the words, "It is not broken even if it is thrown." When the precious Lord is with us, we will not perish in any tribulation. In Dan 3, Daniel's three friends were thrown into the furnace, but because the Lord was with them, they were not destroyed. Therefore, our Christian life is a victorious life. To continue this life, we must look only to Jesus, verse 10.
Organize your words. We are always fragile and fragile beings like earthenware. But we will never perish because we have the precious Jesus. All we have to do is keep looking to the Lord. I hope that you will live a life of victory by living only for the Lord and by living only by faith.
