Title: Our Resurrection Victory
The content is always Easter. Jesus certainly resurrected about 2,000 years ago. do you believe But this should not be the end. “What does the resurrection of Jesus have to do with me? How does it relate to my life now?” Today's text gives an answer to this.
1. Jesus’ resurrection assures our future resurrection (vv. 51-54)
“Behold, I tell you a secret, we will not all sleep, but at the last trumpet we will all be changed in an instant, and at the sound of the trumpet, the dead will live incorruption, and we will also be transformed. When this perishable puts on immortality, and this mortal puts on immortality, then the written word will come true: Death will be swallowed up in victory.”
2. Jesus' resurrection assures our present resurrection (vv. 55-57)
“O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting? The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. We thank God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
He speaks of our present resurrection. The Apostle Paul said that our resurrected Lord Jesus Christ “gives us the victory.” It is not that we will give you victory in the future, but that we will give you victory in the present. The victory does not come only when Christ returns, but the victory “now”.
Then what are you going to win?
1) He overcomes the fear of death.
2) He overcomes the power of sin. “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, for the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death” (Romans 8:1-2).
3) He overcomes the curse of the law.
4) He makes us overcome all circumstances.
“We, who were dead in trespasses, made us alive in Christ Jesus (by grace you have been saved)
He raised us up together and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus” (Ephesians 2:5-6)
Dear saints, I hope you will live a victorious life on this earth today.
