Title: Our Savior Jesus (Matthew 01:18-21)
One day an angel appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary your wife. He is the one who will save us from our sins.”
Today I would like to share with you what it means to know who our Savior Jesus is.
1.Jesus is King
When he said, "Call your name Jesus, for he will..." he meant that Jesus became king over his people.
700 years before Jesus was born, through the prophet Isaiah, Jesus Christ was said to be the King.
(Isa 9:6-7) “For to us a child is born, and to us a son is given, and government upon his shoulders, and his name is Wonderful, Counselor, Almighty God, Everlasting Father, Peace. He will be called the King of the Kingdom of God. His government and peace will never cease; he will sit on David's throne, establish his kingdom, and preserve it with justice and justice from now on and from now on, and the zeal of the Lord of hosts will accomplish this."
Jesus is the King. Jesus came as a descendant of the great king David (Matthew 1:1).
When the Lord was born, wise men from the East came from the East to worship “Jesus, who was born to be King of the Jews” (Matt.
Also, when Jesus was being tried before the governor Pilate, Pilate asked Jesus, "Are you the King of the Jews?" Jesus answered clearly, “You are right” (Matthew 27:11).
That's right.
Jesus is “Lord of lords and King of kings” (Revelation 17:14), who has “all authority in heaven and on earth” (Matthew 28:18). But Jesus was an unwelcome King. He said, “When he came to his own land, his people did not receive him” (John 1:11). Because the first coming Jesus, who came as king, was not a political king who came to rule the world (John 18:33-38).
Therefore, Jesus at the first advent had neither appearance nor danger, nor charm or beauty to attract people's attention. As a result, they were despised and despised by people, suffered sorrow and pain, and turned away from people (Isaiah 53:1-3).
But Jesus, who was crucified, died, rose again, ascended to heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God (Mark 16:19), will come again soon. The Second Coming Jesus will come in glory. The reigning Jesus comes “with power and great glory” (Matthew 24:30).
Jesus will come again in the clouds. Everyone will see Esu coming on the clouds, and the people who pierced him will also see him. And the peoples of the Modnis of the world will weep over the Second Coming Jesus (Rev 1:7). Because the Second Coming Jesus will “judge the living and the dead” (2 Tim. 4:1).
The Bible says "The seventh angel blew his trumpet, and loud voices came out of heaven, saying, The kingdoms of the world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign forever and ever" (Revelation 11:15). Jesus is the King of kings (1 Timothy 6:15).
2. Jesus is the savior
He said, "Call your name Jesus... For he is the one who will save you from your sins." The name of Jesus is the most blessed and beautiful name.
Charles Hodge said, "Of all the words spoken by men since the creation of the world, nothing sanctifies, strengthens, or pleases the human heart more than the term Jesus." Why? Because the name Jesus means "Savior."
God means "majesty", Jehovah means "person", the Lord means "power", and Christ means "anointed". Salvation does not come by any title. Only in the name of “Jesus” can we be saved.
No other person, no authority, no religion can be our salvation.
You can be saved only through the name "Jesus", which God sent and gave you.
The Apostle Peter testified, "Salvation is found in no one else; there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12).
Why is the name of Jesus the only savior
Romans 6:23 says, "The wages of sin is death," and "According to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no remission" (Hebrews 9:22). In other words, in order to forgive a human who has died because of a crime, someone must shed blood for his death.
Therefore, for Adam and Eve, who sinned in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3:1-7), God killed an animal, made it bleed, and made clothes from the animal's skin (Genesis 3:21). After that, people's sin offerings must be offered with the blood of animals (Leviticus 4:1-35).
However, when Jesus came to this world, He Himself died on the cross and shed His blood to atone for our sins once and for all. Therefore, Hebrews 9:12-26 says, “Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Holy of Holies once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. "He said.
In the Old Testament times, the high priest offered a bull for himself and a goat for the people (Jeremiah 15:11-23). In this way, the high priest could not enter the supreme court without blood, and he did not receive a person without the shedding of the blood of animals. However, the high priest had to offer a sin offering repeatedly every year.
But Jesus accomplished eternal redemption by shed blood on the cross once. Through the shedding of his blood once, Jesus obtained our eternal salvation. Now no one has to bleed again.
All of us are cleansed by the blood of Jesus shed just once.
The blood that Jesus shed on the cross is “precious blood like a lamb without blemish” (1 Peter 1:19).
♬ (189 chapters)
“You were not redeemed with a treasure that perishes like gold or silver.
I have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus, the holy Lamb of God.
Atonement Atonement Lord Jesus Atonement for my sins Hallelujah
Let's sing together and sing together
I have found atonement with that blood."
3. Jesus is the savior of his people
“You will give birth to a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save the people from their sins” (verse 21). The phrase “his people” refers to those who belong exclusively to Jesus.
Jesus shed His blood (Hebrews 13:12).
①Who are his people?
“Those who receive them, those who believe in his name” (John 1:12), are Jesus’ people.
It is said, "He saves his people from their sins," and in these words we do not find that none of his people can become Jesus' people without being washed away from their sins by the blood of the Savior.
So, those who justify themselves are clearly not Jesus' people.
The Pharisees said, "I thank you that I am not like other men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, nor publicans. I fast twice a week, and I tithe my income" (Luke 18:11-12). and boasted that he was righteous. But these are clearly not Jesus' people.
② Who are Jesus' people?
“God, have mercy on me, for I am a sinner” (Luke 18:13), the tax collector beating the heart is Jesus’ people.
Anyone who brags that there is nothing sick in his soul has nothing to do with Jesus.
Because Jesus is the Physician of the soul who heals the diseases of the soul (Mal. 4:2).
Moreover, those who boast that they are uncontaminated by sin are clearly not the Lord's people whom Jesus wants to deliver from their sins.
Jesus said. (Matthew 9:12-13) "The healthy have no need of the righteous, but the sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners."
Everyone!
Are you troubled by a sin that no one knows about?
Does anyone suffer under the heavy burden of iniquity? Jesus says.
“Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden” (Matthew 11:28).
♬ (Hymns no. 363)
“Only Jesus, the Lord of this grace, who will take pity on me and save me when I fall because I can’t bear a heavy burden alone.”
Jesus came to this earth to give his life as a ransom to forgive and save sinners (Matthew 20:28).
Jesus does not despise those who come to the bottom of the cross, struggling and mourning for their sins, but accepts them. Jesus clearly promised, “Whoever comes to me I will never cast out” (John 6:37).
who is jesus
Jesus is the King of repentant sinners, who forgives their sins and grants them the grace of eternal salvation.
All of you who come before the Lord and worship
Be the people of our Jesus,
All sins are forgiven,
To welcome Jesus, who has received the grace of eternal salvation and will return in glory as the King of kings.
I bless you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to enjoy eternal life.
