Title: Overcome Fear (Mark 5:35-43)
Contents
Fear is a serious disease. People of faith are unhappy because they cannot overcome their fear. Miracles do not happen because fear cannot be overcome.
Fear makes you sick.
Fear makes food picky.
Fear makes you desperate.
Fear makes you passive.
Fear keeps you from having faith.
Fear is the means to the power of God.
Fear leads to failure.
Fear causes bad things to happen.
As for the cause of the disease, a prominent medical doctor said: “Most neurasthenias result from fearing and imagining the disease.” This means that fear brings disease.
Job tells him that what he feared was maddening to him.
(Job 3:25) “The things I fear come upon me, and the things that I fear have overtaken me.”
Therefore, fear has a penalty.
(1 John 4:18) “There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear, for fear has a punishment, for the one who fears is not perfected in love.”
Fear is a heart given by the devil. Because the heart that God gives is not fear, but peace and comfort.
(2 Timothy 1:7) “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”
The power of the Holy Spirit brings boldness.
1. I will tell you how to overcome fear.
1) Praying overcomes fear.
When there was a storm on the Sea of Galilee, the disciples said, “Lord! Save us, for we are perishing!” shouted.
When we pray, we don't necessarily have to shout so loudly, but we need to ask with a sincere heart. I must pray until my spirit prays. We must pray until the angels help us.
(Mark 11:24) “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”
(John 14:14) “If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.”
(John 15:7) “If you abide in me and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.”
(John 16:23-24) “[23] In that day you will not ask me anything. Truly, truly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in my name, he will give it to you. You asked for nothing in my name; ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.”
(Matthew 7:7-8) “[7] Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. [8] Everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.”
2) Praise overcomes fear.
When you praise, God helps. With such help, Paul and Silas are miraculously released from prison. King Jehoshaphat of Judah also received God's help by singing praises when he was surrounded by the Allied Powers.
(Acts 16:25) “About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and praising God, and the prisoners were listening.”
(2 Chronicles 20:21-22) "[21] [21] And they counseled with the people, and they chose singers, clothed in holy robes, and walked before the army, praising the Lord, saying, Give thanks to the Lord, and his mercy endures forever. [22] When the song and the hymn began, the LORD set ambush against the Ammonites, Moab, and the Seirites, who came against Judah, and they were defeated.”
3) If you meditate on the Word, your fear will be overcome.
(1 Peter 2:24) “He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness. By His wounds you were healed.”
(Phil 4:13) “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”
(Mark 9:23) "Jesus said to him, "If it is possible, what do you mean? Nothing is impossible for those who believe."
The Word must be heard as the voice of God.
4) Confession overcomes fear.
Confess Jesus Christ as your Savior. Then you will have salvation.
(Romans 10:9-10) 『[9] If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. [10] With the heart a man believes, resulting in righteousness. Confess with the mouth, resulting in salvation”
Confess that Jesus was healed by the whips. Then you will be healed.
(1 Peter 2:24) “He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness. By His wounds you were healed.”
(Isa 53:5) “He was pierced for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace, and his wounds we are healed.”
Confess that the Holy Spirit has poured out love into your heart. Then you will possess the power of love.
(Romans 5:5) “Hope does not put us to shame, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit, which has been given to us.”
Confess that God will provide for me with everything I need. Then you will have the ability to receive everything.
(Philippians 4:19) “My God will supply all your needs according to his riches, glorified in Christ Jesus.”
2. I will tell you the blessing of those who overcome fear.
1) If we overcome fear through prayer, praise, word, and confession,
Miracles and answers will surely come.
2) The power of God will be revealed.
3) Be a bold person with confidence in everything, and become a successful person
It's possible.
4) Your eyes will be opened and the road ahead will be visible.
5) Become a person God uses.
6) Your faith will deepen.
7) Your face will become beautiful and healthy, and you will live a life full of confidence.
<Conclusion>
Those who fear are bound to fail. Fear destroys faith and makes you passive. It causes them to lose their self-confidence and eventually hinders the work of God's miracles.
When we overcome fear, we are victorious.
Let's dispel fear through prayer, praise, word, and confession.
If you overcome your fear of disease, you will gain health.
If you overcome your fear of failure, you will find success.
If you overcome your fear of poverty, you will become rich.
If you overcome your fear of people, you will get friends.
If you overcome your fear of loss, you will be able to share more.
Let's overcome fear. As we overcome our fears, our faith and faith will grow even more. In the name of the Lord, I ask that you overcome fear through the Word and prayer in the Holy Spirit. (Rev. Park Seongbae)
