Title [7.4] Overflowing with Gratitude
Content overflowing with gratitude
(Col 2: 6-7)
It was a year when Germany had a bad famine and there was nothing to eat. An old couple made bread out of their pity for the hungry, and distributed it to the people every day. Only one person could take one piece of bread, but everyone lined up to get the big piece of bread. Perhaps because of their obsession with the big bread, people always forgot to say thank you. Among these people was a girl. However, the child did not fight with others for a large piece of bread. The child always had to bring a small loaf of bread, but the only thing he never forgot to say thank you. One day, the little girl was given an unusually small piece of bread, but she did not forget to say thank you, just like any other day. But what is this! When the child broke the bread, there was gold in it. Isn't God's heart the same as this old couple? Even when we cannot be thankful, God will give us greater grace and blessings if we go forward with thanksgiving.
Second, where is the secret to gratitude? Who can be overly grateful? That is, a person who stands firm in the faith. Gratitude is an expression of faith and a result. Do you know the miracles of the five diseases of Jesus? The Bible records that Jesus took two fish and five loaves and gave thanks. Before the miracle happened, Jesus believed in what was about to happen and went forward with thanksgiving. This was also the case when Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead. If we, who have received Christ as our Lord, also move forward with proactive thanksgiving, please believe that God's miracles will also happen in our lives.
Third, how should we be thankful? The text tells us to overflow with thanksgiving. The British automobile king, Henry Ford, has decided to donate 2,000 to the construction of an orphanage. This news spread to the area and eventually became an article in the local newspaper. By the way, the newspaper said that Ford had agreed to donate 20,000. The orphanage called Ford and apologized politely, but Ford believed it was God's plan and decided to donate another 18,000. And he asked me to erect a monument like this in front of the building. “This building was not built by Ford, but by God Himself.” Gratitude is not a waste. This is a prelude to blessings. Gratitude breeds greater gratitude.
You can experience greater gratitude with the gratitude you have now. In the name of the Lord, I pray that you will become those who confess that God has done so much gratitude in my life.
