Title: Parable of the debtor / Matthew 18
What is the most needed virtue in our society right now?
Aren't you forgiven?
What is the Kingdom of God?
According to today's text, we can say that it is a country of forgiveness.
When most people think of Christianity, they think of holiness, holiness, and honesty.
But above this, "forgiveness and reconciliation."
Chastity that has lost its tolerance suffocates a person.
Even if it's neat, if it's neat enough, you can't live with that person because you're tired.
If your husband doesn't wash his feet well, say so.
Don't force yourself to wash too much.
Actually, women like squid,
If you think about the smell, it smells similar to the smell of feet or squid.
Think of it as grilled squid.
Only those who forgive can live happily ever after.
Only those who forgive can see a hopeful future.
If you don't forgive, you're stuck in the past.
You will lead a hard life.
Forgiveness is not for others.
If you think deeply, forgiveness is about putting yourself first.
Today Peter asks the Lord a question.
How many times should I forgive my brother when he sins?
And then he said, 'Up to seven times?
In fact, Peter was being kind.
This was the teaching of the Pharisees at that time.
“Forgive me twice.
But to forgive more than that is cowardly."
One rabbi taught about forgiveness:
"Forgive up to the third time. Never forgive the fourth."
It was a strange thought, not like Peter, to think that he would forgive seven times in this situation.
But our Lord's answer was beyond imagination.
Forgive not only seven times, but seventy times seven times.
Do you mean to forgive up to 490 times?
Are you saying that you don't have to forgive from the 491th?
no. The teaching of Jesus is that there is no limit to forgiveness.
It means endless forgiveness.
Counting the numbers here is not pure in itself.
Forgiveness means forgetting.
Forgiveness must be clean and complete.
Forgiveness also means faith in the other side.
Forgiveness is accepting, accepting, and pushing the other person's faults as they are.
Also, forgiveness is the true life of a Christian who believes in the Lord, even if he is deceived.
You shouldn't say it's wrong once.
We need courage and faith to shake things off.
And through the parable of the indebted servant, the Lord explains why we need to forgive.
He teaches the reasons and motives.
There was a servant who owed a great debt to a certain king.
The poorest person in the world is the person in debt.
The debtor has a mouth, but cannot speak.
You can't even resist being insulted.
You cannot live as a free man until you pay off all your debts.
The debt this servant owed was a whopping ten thousand talents.
At that time, the monetary unit was not precisely known.
I don't know how much, but it's hundreds of millions of dollars.
It was an astronomical amount of debt that could not be fully repaid even after a lifetime of income.
There is absolutely no chance of paying it back.
It was a life without hope.
But in verse 26, the man said to the king,
The physical words of those who are in debt.
Even though I can't pay it back, I'll pay it back. Jogyu asks you to relax.
The king, however, felt pity for the man and forgave him a large debt.
what a great grace
Even with this one thing, you will have to live with gratitude for the rest of your life.
But a problem arose.
Verse 28 tells us that as soon as this man went out before the king, he met a man who owed him.
The debt was a hundred denarii.
It was an incomparably small amount of money compared to the debt he had forgiven.
It was equal to 1 in 600,000.
But how is this man behaving?
Since it is the Bible, it is written softly, but if you express it a little harshly,
It's usually like this when you get money by grabbing it, twisting it, and getting money.
Let's look at verses 29 and 30.
He did not allow it, but went there and imprisoned him to pay off his debts.>
People around them are excited to see this and say to the king.
And when the king heard this, he became very angry.
Shouldn't you have pity on your brother-in-law as I have compassion on you?>
And he assigned me to a prison jol to pay off all the debt.
Dear saints,
Isn't this evil servant none other than us?
He forgave all of us who had no choice but to die through the grace of the cross.
Forgive without conditions.
He made us without hope into children of God and glorious beings.
Do we remember this great grace?
But how much do we forgive our neighbors for their sins?
Are there any neighbors we still haven't forgiven?
Some say that those who believe in Jesus are inferior to those of the world.
No matter how big the world fights, if you have a drink, you will be reconciled.
Those who believe in Jesus say that once a fight is over, it will be over.
It is said that they live their entire lives like enemies.
When you think of the grace and love of our Lord, is there any unforgivable sin?
Only those who realize grace can forgive.
Only those who realize that they have received tremendous forgiveness can forgive their neighbor's faults.
look at ourselves
How much love have you received?
Children, 1 to 4 years old, are the most loved.
But the problem is that I don't remember this time.
When you love, you will surely realize that you have been loved.
When you forgive, you will realize with certainty that you too have received tremendous forgiveness from God.
will do.>
As we forgive, our character and faith grow.
A new year has arrived.
Forgive all the past years, unforgivable family and neighbors, and be renewed as God's blessed existence
Let's go.
Do it.>
