paradigm of thinking
Isaiah 55:6-9
Proverbs 23:7 says, “For as the thoughts of his heart are, so are the great men…” A great man refers to the character of a person. It means that a person's heart and thoughts make a person's character. A Paradigm is a way of looking at the world in general. The way people understand and interpret the world changes according to their hearts and minds.
deep thought
The deeper you dig the well, the better the bottled water you get. You have to dig through the soil and through the rocks to reach the water veins flowing underground to get the living water. It is the result of the depth of the thinking of winning civilization that mankind enjoys today.
Leonardo da Vinci designed cars and airplanes. The Wright brothers in America built the first airplane. Thomas Edison made telephones, capacitors, and transistors. These are all treasures drawn from the well of deep thought. Thoughts deepen the more you repeat them. If you dig your thoughts like digging in the ground until water comes out, better thoughts will spring up.
It is said that Bill Gates in the United States spends a Think Week twice a year staying at a villa to organize his thoughts. Bill Gates has a separate Thinking Week, but Chairman Lee Kun-hee has a Thinking Week 365 days a year. What Chairman Lee Kun-hee and Chairman Bill Gates have in common are managers who think deeply. Chairman Lee Kun-hee is known for working from home rather than the company's office. While studying and contemplating alone at home, I make plans and decisions for Samsung 5 years and 10 years from now. A manager's thoughts are his weapons and his thoughts are his capital. Everyone is a manager. Home management, self-management.
A man who failed in everything he did begs the wise king to teach him the secret to success. The king did not say anything, poured the wine into a glass and told them to go round the village in the field. And he had a soldier with a sword follow him.
If you spill even a drop of wine, you must beheaded immediately. When he came to seek wisdom, he was in danger and was forced to bring a glass of wine and return to the village in a cold sweat. “Yeah, what did you see as you walked around town?” “Yeah, I didn’t see anything.” The king asked again, angry. “You mean you didn’t see anything as you passed the street?” “Yeah, I didn’t see anything. I didn't hear anything. I was just focusing on wine. Then the king smiled and said, “Yes, that is the secret to success. The secret of success is to focus on one thing and focus on one thing and not the other.” If you focus and think deeply, you too will experience amazing results. Humans are in the image of God. There is creativity in the image of God. I hope you think deeply and bring up something better.
broad thinking
The Swiss Reformer, Zwingli, was walking on a mountain when he saw two goats meeting each other on a narrow mountain pass. It was a narrow road that only one goat could barely pass through. Below the road was a cliff and a river was flowing. One came down from the top and the other went up from the bottom. It looked like two goats were facing each other and were taut and fighting to get away from each other. But something completely different happened. The goat that was going up was lying on the side of the road. Then the descending goat stepped on the lying goat and went down first. Then the lying goat got up and went up. Zwingli saw an open mind that knew how to make concessions.
What makes this world beautiful is the care and consideration from the point of view of others. Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates listened to his subordinates and built the world-class company it is today. During an executive meeting, an executive suggested that customers download a program that turns on the Internet for free. It was a suggestion that doing so could benefit other value-added businesses.
Upon hearing this, Gates got angry and scolded him. Upon returning to his office, Gates thought about it, and realized that the executive's words made sense. It was decided that if many people use the Internet, the demand for other programs will skyrocket. Eventually, Gates apologized to the executive and released the program for free. This event enabled Microsoft to grow into one of the world's top companies. It was effective to accept the opinions of subordinates with an open mind.
Jesus' father, Joseph, was a thoughtful man. “When Mary was betrothed to Joseph and before they lived together, it was found that she was conceived by the Holy Spirit… When she was thinking about these things, in order to cut off her without revealing herself…” (Matthew 1:18-20) God sent a messenger to Joseph. Joseph, who did not easily cut off his relationship with Mary, thought about what was right and thought broadly, became Mary's husband and a father who raised Jesus.
high thoughts
High thinking is to think of things above. “Therefore, if ye have been raised with Christ, seek the things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Think above, not earthly” (Colossians 3:1-2) That's a high thought.
Stephen Covey, author of the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, was riding the subway one day. It was quiet inside the subway, but it got noisy as a middle-aged man and children got on it. The children were talking loudly, throwing things and making a commotion. An annoyed passenger said to the children's father. "Can't the kids be quiet because they're a nuisance to guests?" “The teacher is right. But I was just coming from the hospital, and the child's mother died an hour ago. It's dark and I don't know what to do." Hearing that, Dr. Kobe suddenly saw the situation differently.
What the child was talking about was thought differently. The irritability is gone, and the compassionate thoughts about the child have made me think about what to do at times like this. Stephen Covey felt a paradigm shift in thinking. It made me look at the annoying scene differently. My father's words influenced my thoughts and feelings. Words are the paradigm of thinking upwards.
When you hear the word of God, your thoughts turn upward. The more you believe and believe that something is possible, the more likely you are to succeed. High thoughts improve life. When you think you can, you start, you speed up, and you take action. “My thoughts are not your thoughts, saith the LORD, My ways are not your ways, just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts” (verses 8-9). It means not. God's thoughts are not like man's thoughts. God's thoughts are higher than human thoughts. The difference between man and God is the difference in thinking.
As we go through life, there are times when it feels like the sky is falling. Business goes bankrupt, incurable disease, betrayal or unfair work. When faced with these kinds of things, those who do not have high thoughts become frustrated and despair. But the high-thinking person sees light in the dark and finds a way out even in a dead end that seems to be blocked on all sides. There are times when you really don't want to hesitate, sometimes you don't want to live anymore. In that case, you need to raise your head and look up. “But those who wait for the LORD will find new strength, and they will soar up on wings like eagles; they will run and not get weary, they will walk and not get tired” (Isaiah 40:31).
The ancient Egyptian astronomer Ptolemy said that the Earth was the center of the universe. However, Niclaus Copernicus argued that the sun was the center of the universe. It was a revolutionary statement at the time. This was the so-called heliocentric theory. As the Earth rotates, it creates day and night. Just as the Earth rotates, you must rotate yourself. We need to develop ourselves and change the paradigm of thinking.
Let us ponder Jesus (Hebrews 3:1). Let's think broadly while looking east, west, north and south (Genesis 13:14). Let us consider the things above and set our minds high (Colossians 3:1)
