Title: Parents to their children
Contents
Text: Proverbs 3:1-10 My son, do not forget my law, but keep my commands in your heart, and it will bring you many years with many years and increase in peace. Put it around your neck and write it on the tablet of your heart, and you will find favor and esteem in the sight of God and men Do not be wise in yourselves, fear the Lord and turn away from evil, for it will be good for your body, and it will nourish your marrow. New wine will overflow
Proverbs 22:6 says, “Teach a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” It is said that the Bible speaks about children five thousand times.
Interest in children began with Christianity. Children's Day can also be called from the Christian Church. Children are the treasure of the country and the treasure of my family. Of course, prayer is the treasure of our church.
Everyone! Where are the treasures as precious as the children born into our homes? If you look at the devotion of parents raising their children recently, it can be said that the families that cherish and cherish their children the most are those in Korea that cannot be found anywhere else in the world.
Psalm 127 says, “Children are an inheritance from the Lord, and the fruit of the womb is God’s reward.” Another said, "The home is the father's kingdom, the mother's world, and the children's paradise." Therefore, parents have a responsibility to shine the precious treasure of God in their home.
So today, I am going to pray for our children by speaking under the title "Parents to their children."
1. Parents must first teach their children through life.
I have to teach my beliefs, my life, and my philosophy silently through my parents' lives. He said that there is no other sermon that impresses like a sermon taught by life. Timothy said that he was moved by faith from his maternal grandmother Lois and mother Eunice (2 Timothy 1:5).
According to psychologists, personal personality development, lifestyle, values, and habits are shaped by the influences received from parents when they were young. And the influence of others in middle school or high school is very small.
According to one educator, when their children go to school and enter the entrance hall, when they say, "Father, mother, I went to school," they say, "Are you here. Did you have a good time?" will be The reason is that these children are mentally stable and adapt well to society.
When we look at the home environment of successful people worldwide, the success rate of children who raised their children negatively is only 0.6%, and the rest of the successful people are children who have been actively cared for by their parents. The teenagers who now use weapons day and night to kill people and steal money on the streets are in part due to the influence of having been brought up wrongly at home.
Our parents live uprightly for their children and worship God. doing good to others Families that teach prayer and gratitude should know that their children imitate that life.
2. There must be a podium that fosters self-reliance.
For modern people, as the external life becomes more prosperous and the environment gets better, the stage in life becomes weaker and independence becomes increasingly rare. Failing people usually react like this when they come up with a great idea.
First, various reasons and excuses are used. I think I can't do it because I don't have the ability, the knowledge, the property, or the position. It is to throw away the idea by giving reasons and pretexts of inferiority and skepticism.
The second is to hesitate and hesitate. While hesitating whether such an opportunity will come again next time, or whether he can do it, the opportunity passes. Opportunities do not wait while you hesitate and hesitate.
Third, we are gripped by fear and anxiety. If you fail, you can't do anything because of the fear of what to do.
All of these reasons are due to the lack of a platform that fosters self-reliance.
Are you training your children? The people who have had the greatest influence in the history of Christianity are all those who have undergone refinement. Moses was trained in the wilderness for 40 years. The apostle Paul received training in the Arabian wilderness. Martin Luther was disciplined by the strict education of his mother and father. Susanna Wesley had nineteen children, but she called them to a different room every evening and trained 19 children through family worship as well as personal home education and counseling to raise great leaders like Wesley. Also, Johann Wesley was so rigorously trained that he was later called a Methodist, or Ruler.
3 . We need to plant Jesus deeply in our children.
Today's text shows it well (Proverbs 3:1-10).
Even though Moses could not enter the land of Canaan, he pointed out, "If you enter the land of Canaan, you will receive blessings by living like this." That is the word of Deuteronomy. In particular, in Deuteronomy 6, sema (Hebrew, meaning 'hear the word of God') has a principle for religious education in Jewish families. I will teach and preach these words when I sit at home, when I walk on the road, when I lie down and when I get up” (Deuteronomy 6:6-7).
Great people are people who grew up in faith from an early age.
Isaac Watts, who wrote many hymns and sent tens of millions of souls to heaven, was born again at the age of nine.
Jonathan Edwards, a powerful preacher who led many souls to God in England, is said to have been converted at the age of seven.
Henry Ward Beeche is said to have been blessed by a black believer at the age of five.
There is a saying in Wesley's motto:
1. There is no happiness in man apart from God.
2. If you only find happiness in God, He will never let you down. But if you seek happiness elsewhere, you will be disappointed, for all creation is in vain.
3. I am not afraid that the Methodist Church will perish on this earth More than that, I worry that only the organization that has lost the love that is the essence of the Methodist Church will remain.
We must first plant Jesus in our children and raise them with the Word of God.
Here are 10 excuses for our children not to go to church.
1. Pastors didn't come to me often.
2. I went to church a few times, but no one greeted me and was not friendly.
3. Every time you go, you are asked to pay.
4. You cannot live the high standards and moral life taught in the city.
5. I went to church when I was young, so God will not hate me.
6. Worship time is too long.
7. There is a contradiction.
8. I don't like church music.
9. When I go to church, I want to rest at home.
10. I can't go because I want to smoke.
The more we evangelize, the more diligently we must lead these kinds of people and children to come to church.
We must teach them that the fork in life's destiny and blessing begins with this faith.
4. Parents should pray for their children.
If the children in our house are so precious today, we cannot help but pray for them, even for a moment. But prayers for these children are never in vain.
In the Old Testament, Hannah was struggling because she had no children, but through prayer, she got a precious son named Samuel. This prayer is also a prenatal education. And even after they grow up, the child can never go out of the way.
So, as soon as Hannah was weaned after giving birth to Samuel, she put her before God, received an education in the faith, and became the future father of the nation of Israel. Whether you search through history or follow the Bible, you will find that there must be a praying mother behind the great people in the country and the great workers of God. Prayer is spiritual breathing. A child without an airway cannot live right away, just as a creature that has stopped breathing cannot live.
Augustine was a famous bully. Contrary to Monica's mother's prayers to make her a faithful man in the Lord, Augustine was falling deeper and deeper into the path of disobedience. Monica went to Pastor Ambrose and appealed.
"No. The tears of prayer do not return in vain. The day will come when the Lord will wipe away your tears. Do not become discouraged while doing good." Monica gained strength and began to pray again.
One day, Augustine is crossing a deserted sea in a boat, when a typhoon suddenly hits the ship and shatters the ship. In the midst of a strong wind, he barely catches a piece of plank and floats away. The line of salvation does not follow. will die soon
It is natural for Augustine to die as the price for my sins in an instant, but my mother prayed for me with tears for a long time. Then I woke up. It was a dream.
Augustine woke up after this vivid dream. The heart of disbelief and disobedience began to break. He was very impressed with the words of Romans 13:11-14, "Awake, rise, and do."
After that, he went to Pastor Ambrose and repented.
Changed and became a new person. He wrote the book of Confession as a means of repenting for the sins of the past.
This book is a world-class masterpiece that cannot be read without tears.
He became a saint. St. Augustine, revered by all, is a biblical scholar, a great theologian, and a minister of blessing. The strength that Mother prayed behind the scenes for Augustine to become like this was because there was the bishop's saying, "Children of faith who pray do not perish."
conclusion. Let me finish my speech.
parents to their children,
1. First, we must teach by life.
2. There must be a podium that fosters self-reliance.
3 You must plant Jesus deeply.
4. Parents should pray for their children.
Parents who receive this message today pray in the name of the Lord that it will be a time of new determination and reflection for their children and a time of God's great grace and blessing for our children.
